nfl picks week 4 2020 sb nation - win

Post-Super Bowl 7-Round Mock Draft

I added in projected compensatory picks from OTC and the compensatory picks from the new minority candidate development rule. Not sure how those are supposed to be structured in, so I simply used the OTC ones first in the order, but took off the last 3 estimated compensatory picks to ensure it remained at a simple 32 compensatory picks added. So apologies to the Cowboys, Bears, and Steelers. You might have been robbed of a pick but I don't know the specifics of how all those will be factored in. If someone knows the actual way those will set-up, that'd be useful information. Going to provide commentary on rounds 1-3 then maybe the occasional commentary after that if I really like a fit.
Also, there's a chance that I missed someone announcing they were returning to school or not. Just let me know if so.

Pre-Draft Trades

Using the terms suggested from a SB Nation article, so yell at them if you hate it: CAR sends: QB Teddy Bridgewater, 2021, 2022, 2023 first-round picks, 2021, 2022 second-round picks HOU sends: QB Deshaun Watson
The Panthers have drafted relatively well the last 2-3 years, as they have several younger pieces they can continue building around. Thus, a major package to land QB Deshaun Watson should be something they explore. For Houston, a king's ransom for a disgruntled star who really wants out.
An NFC championship contender adds a big piece to their offense: GB sends: 2021 second-round pick, 2022 fifth-round pick DAL sends: WR Michael Gallup, 2021 seventh-round pick
The Packers add some extra firepower on offense by adding Gallup. With Rodgers window coming to a close, the Packers take a chance that an established veteran like Gallup will do more for them than a very late second-round pick. Dallas has Amari Cooper and now CeeDee Lamb at WR, making Gallup expendable if they get a good offer for him.
An NFC playoff team makes a splash at the quarterback position: WAS sends: 2021 fourth-round pick, 2022 seventh-round pick JAC sends: QB Gardner Minshew
While the Redskins did not land Stafford, they could still find a solid upgrade at the QB position by bringing in Gardner Minshew. I love how he fits in Scott Turner's offense, and think this would be a decent enough price to pay to give them some stability at the position.

First Round

(1) Jacksonville Jaguars - QB Trevor Lawrence, Clemson - I'd imagine even though it's the only pick that never changes, Jaguars fans aren't bored of seeing this. Lawrence is a special player and their best bet at turning things around in a hurry.
(2) New York Jets - QB Zach Wilson, BYU - There still could be a small chance that the Jets stick with Sam Darnold, but we're going to go ahead and give Darnold a fresh-start somewhere else (trade to be revealed later). I have Fields a smidge higher than Zach Wilson, but could easily see him being the selection here. I think Wilson's a better fit, however, for LaFleur's Shanahan style offense. Either way, a talented QB for the Jets and head coach Robert Saleh (great f***ing hire btw Jets fans).
(3) Miami Dolphins (via HOU) - OT Penei Sewell, Oregon - With the Panthers giving up a haul for Deshaun Watson, the Dolphins may not have a lot of options to trade out of this spot. Thus, they stick tight and land an elite pass protector for QB Tua Tagovailoa.
(4) Atlanta Falcons - QB Justin Fields, Ohio State - Personally, I love the idea of Fields coming back home to Georgia to sit behind Matt Ryan for a season. The Falcons, and new head coach Arthur Smith, would be wise to take a QB while they're in a natural position to snag one. Ryan will start 2021 for sure due to his contract, but if things go well, they could make a Mahomes like transition to Fields into 2022.
(5) Cincinnati Bengals - OT Rashawn Slater, Northwestern - There a lot of buzz that Slater could be above Sewell in the mind of many NFL executives. Either way, it's a strong pick for the Bengals and Joe Burrow to land a top offensive tackle.
TRADE! The Patriots send their 2021 1st (1.15) along with a 2021 3rd (3.98) and a 2022 1st to the Eagles to move up to their selection at 6.
(6) New England Patriots (via PHI) - QB Trey Lance, North Dakota State - The Patriots need to make a significant investment in the QB position, as neither Cam Newton nor Jarrett Sitdham looked like the answer for them in 2020. Here they make a splash trade to move up and grab Lance, a player with immense physical talent. Ideally they'd land a veteran QB like Ryan Fitzpatrick to start in 2021 while they let Lance develop.
(7) Detroit Lions - WR Devonta Smith, Alabama - One thing lost in the Stafford-Goff trade is Detroit essentially nuking its cap space by bringing in Goff's $28 million deal. Now $11 million over the estimated cap, the Lions do not seem likely to retain WR Kenny Golladay at this point. They need a replacement for Goff to throw to while they determine if he'll be around longer than 2021.
(8) Houston Texans (via CAR) - CB Caleb Farley, Virginia Tech - Without a QB available here, the Texans play it patient, letting newly acquired Teddy Bridgewater run the show in 2021. They instead my personal top choice at corner this year, Virginia Tech's Caleb Farley. For a defense that needs to get turned around, he represents an excellent building block for them.
TRADE! The Miami Dolphins get aggressive here, sending their second first-round pick (1.18), a 2021 3rd (3.82) and a 2022 2nd round pick, and swap 2nds with Denver to move up here.
(9) Miami Dolphins (via DEN) - WR Ja'Marr Chase, LSU - The Dolphins go land a premier wide receiver target for QB Tua Tagovailoa to throw to. Chase and Smith will be widely debated for the top wide receiver honors in this draft class. Miami would likely be elated to add either one of them.
(10) Dallas Cowboys - CB Patrick Surtain II, Alabama - Surtain may not be my top cornerback, but the Cowboys should have no hesitation adding him here at tenth overall, especially considering the dire state of their defense.
(11) New York Giants - EDGE Kwity Paye, Michigan - Paye is an exceptional athletic talent. Much like fellow Wolverine Rashan Gary coming out of Ann Arbor, he's still got plenty of room to grow into an elite rusher. He was dominant in the first few games for the Wolverines in an otherwise rough 2020 season for Harbaugh and co.
(12) San Francisco 49ers - CB Jaycee Horn, South Carolina - I have top-15 grades on all three of the corners listed so far, so this remains excellent value in my opinion for the 49ers. They're likely going to lose a handful of cornerbacks to free agency this year, so landing a premier rookie to develop into a stud for DeMeco Ryans defense is a priority.
(13) Los Angeles Chargers - OT Christian Darrisaw, Virginia Tech - An excellent group of tackles in this year's draft class is a big benefit for the Chargers, as they're able to land a premier prospect like Darrisaw. He'll fit well in new offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi's offense in his second-go as a play-caller.
(14) Minnesota Vikings - T/G Alijah Vera-Tucker, USC - Vera-Tucker has the flexibility to play tackle or move inside to guard. The Vikings have a similar player in Ezra Cleveland, which should give them the ability to move some guys around and find the ideal pairing here.
(15) Philadelphia Eagles - EDGE Gregory Rousseau, Miami - The Eagles probably have some positional needs above this, but it'd be a mistake to go for a worse player at a lesser player, thus the selection of Rousseau. He's an elite athlete and was incredibly disruptive for the Hurricanes in 2019. With Brandon Graham getting up there in age, and Vinny Curry set to hit free agency, this selection goes best player available with the near future in mind.
(16) Arizona Cardinals - TE Kyle Pitts, Florida - The Cardinals could use a monsterous pass catcher like Pitts to pair with DeAndre Hopkins. With some strong flashes from QB Kyler Murray in 2020, adding one more weapon could provide the breakthrough the Cardinals need to make it into the playoffs.
TRADE! The Steelers make a move up, sending a 1st (1.24), their third (3.88) and a 2022 fifth to move up and make the selection here instead of the Raiders.
(17) Pittsburgh Steelers - OT Samuel Cosmi, Texas - Jumping ahead of a couple of OT-needy teams in the WFT and the Bears, Pittsburgh gets its future franchise pass protector. Cosmi's film shows a highly athletic tackle who has gotten better each season in Austin. Put in a strong program under Mike Tomlin, I think Cosmi can thrive as a future All-Pro.
(18) Denver Broncos (via MIA) - LB Micah Parsons, Penn State - The Broncos land an absolute steal here with Parsons, an elite blend of size and speed at the LB position. Additionally, his versatility should be a weapon for Vic Fangio to deploy, as he's capable of filling multiple roles on any defense.
(19) Washington Football Team - WR Jaylen Waddle, Alabama - I think a bigger wide receiver would work a bit better, but Scott Turner's creativity in building an offense around mostly role/gadget players like Logan Thomas and Antonio Gibson and J.D. McKissic gives me confidence he can make it work with an elite talent like Waddle.
(20) Chicago Bears - G Wyatt Davis, Ohio State - The Bears could probably go for a tackle a little bit more than a guard, but beggars cannot be choosers this late into the first-round. They land an elite interior lineman to immediately give a boost to their offensive line.
(21) Indianapolis Colts - QB Mac Jones, Alabama - Philip Rivers retired, Jacoby Brissett is a free agent, and Jacob Eason wasn't active for a single game. Add it all together and it looks like the Colts are in need of a QB like Jones. A decisive passer with a good deep ball, he'll be a nice addition for Frank Reich to mentor.
(22) Tennessee Titans - EDGE Jaelan Phillips, Miami - The Titans pass rusher was miserable this past season. Injecting some youth and athleticism into the equation could help Mike Vrabel get his defense back on track. Phillips was excellent for the Hurricanes in 2020.
(23) New York Jets (via SEA) - OT Alex Leatherwood, Alabama - The Jets add another big body here to pair on the other side of LT Mekhi Becton. With those two in town, new QB Zach Wilson should feel quite comfortable in the pocket.
(24) Las Vegas Raiders (via PIT) - DT Christian Barmore, Alabama - The sixth Crimson Tide player selected, Barmore was dominant the second half of the season in Tuscaloosa. He'd fill a big need on Ken Whisenhu...I mean, Gus Bradley's defense here in Vegas.
(25) Jacksonville Jaguars (via LAR) - WR Kadarius Toney, Florida - The Jaguars give Trevor Lawrence an explosive weapon to throw to. Toney lit up the SEC this season and was very impressive at the Senior Bowl. He'd join former Florida head coach Urban Meyer a short drive away.
(26) Cleveland Browns - DT Daviyon Nixon, Iowa - The Browns drafting this late with their own selection is a sign of how far they've come in recent years. They now have the ability to sit back and take the best player on the board in Nixon, a dominant pass rusher who came on strong in Big Ten play this year.
(27) Baltimore Ravens - WR Rashod Bateman, Minnesota - I believe I've had this pick in the last mock I did as well, but it makes way too much sense. The Ravens need a top option at wide receiver and Bateman's a crafty player who fits their offense well.
(28) New Orleans Saints - CB Aaron Robinson, UCF - Robinson is a very underrated corner in this draft, and I really think he'll have a shot to land in the first-round. A quick player who always ends up in the right position, he'd be an excellent addition to the Saints defense.
(29) Green Bay Packers - LB Nick Bolton, Missouri - The Packers need some fresh blood at the second level, and Bolton's an absolute missile who flies all over the field. Bolton would fit really well in the middle of their defense, especially if the Packers hire a 3-4 zone blitz genius like Jim Leonhard as their new coordinator.
(30) Buffalo Bills - EDGE Azeez Ojulari, Georgia - A debate here between Ojulari and Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, but ultimately think the depth at LB is a bit better in this class then pass rusher. So, Ojulari joins Sean McDermott's defense in Buffalo.
(31) Kansas City Chiefs - iOL Creed Humphrey, Oklahoma - The Chiefs need to add a starting caliber player to the interior of their offense line, and if Humphrey slides to them in the first-round, that'd be excellent value for them.
(32) Tampa Bay Buccaneers - RB Najee Harris, Alabama - Congratulations Bucs fans and the Brady bandwagon! Now, don't get too caught up on the position, the best way to maintain your dominance is to continue adding elite pieces, and Harris is a potential star at the RB position. Excellent in-between the tackles as well as in the passing game.

Second Round

(33) Jacksonville Jaguars - S Trevon Moehrig, TCU - I almost thought about Moehrig with their second first-round pick, but ultimately he still lands in Jacksonville.
(34) New York Jets - RB Travis Etienne, Clemson - The Jets have the cap space to add a veteran WR like Allen Robinson or Kenny Golladay, so use the draft to add a stellar running back.
(35) Atlanta Falcons - CB Erik Stokes, Georgia - Another Georgia player sticking around, as Stokes gives them an excellent option to develop alongside Terrell.
(36) Denver Broncos (via MIA) - CB Greg Newsome II, Northwestern - A rising star at the cornerback position, Newsome fits well into Fangio's defense.
(37) Philadelphia Eagles - WR Amon-Ra St. Brown, USC - After adding an edge rusher earlier, the Eagles add a top wideout in the Trojan's star.
(38) Cincinnati Bengals - G Deonte Brown, Alabama - The Bengals, after trading for another starting guard earlier, continue to overhaul their line.
(39) Houston Texans (via CAR) - EDGE Joseph Ossai, Texas - The Texans add some pass rushing help on the edge of their front seven with Ossai.
(40) Miami Dolphins (via DEN) - OLB Zaven Collins, Tulsa - Collins is an ideal fit for Brian Flores, as he can lineup in a handful of different spots, similar to some of the linebackers he's worked with in Miami and New England.
(41) Detroit Lions - LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, Notre Dame - The Lions add a rangy linebacker who can give them some much needed at the position.
(42) New York Giants - G Trey Smith, Tennessee - The Giants get an upgrade along the offensive with a powerful guard like Smith.
(43) San Francisco 49ers - DT Levi Onwuzurike, Washington - The 49ers add an elite defensive tackle to pair with Javon Kinlaw on the inside.
(44) Dallas Cowboys - OT Dillon Radunz, North Dakota State - The Cowboys went defense earlier, but add a talented offensive lineman to restock the trenches here.
(45) Jacksonville Jaguars - TE Pat Freiermuth, Penn State - If Freiermuth falls to the Jags here that'd be an absolute steal. A high-caliber tight end who can do everything needed at the position.
(46) New England Patriots - WR Terrace Marshall Jr., LSU - The Patriots, even if they add a QB, still need more weapons at WR. Marshall is an excellent one.
(47) Los Angeles Chargers - CB Ifeatu Melifonwu, Syracuse - The Chargers give new head coach Brandon Staley an elite athlete to mold into a dominant cornerback for them.
(48) Las Vegas Raiders - EDGE Joe Tryon, Washington - The Raiders bring in another talent piece of Washington 2019 defensive line. He's got a high motor along with immense upside.
TRADE! The Colts hop in front of the Dolphins to land their guy. They send a 2022 3rd round pick along with their second (2.54) here to the Cardinals in exchange for this selection and a 2022 7th round pick.
(49) Indianapolis Colts (via ARI) - EDGE Carlos Basham, Wake Forest - I think Basham could definitely go higher than this, but if he's available in the second, the Colts should jump up to land him.
(50) Miami Dolphins - S Jevon Holland, Oregon - The Dolphins add a playmaking safety to join their defense. Holland was an excellent leader on defense for the Ducks.
(51) Washington Football Team - OT Teven Jenkins, Oklahoma State - Washington has gotten serviceable production from a pair of aging OT's in Moses and Lucas. They add a developmental tackle to replace them soon enough.
(52) Chicago Bears - WR Nico Collins, Michigan - The Bears could see star WR Allen Robinson walk in free agency. Adding a deep threat like Collins to pair with Mooney would be fun.
(53) Tennessee Titans - OT Jalen Mayfield, Michigan - Another Wolverine in the second round here, Mayfield would give the Titans a strong Michigan-based tackle duo with Taylor Lewan's return.
(54) Arizona Cardinals (via IND) - iOL Landon Dickerson, Alabama - A tough, hard-nosed player on the interior, Dickerson can play a handful of spots, making him a versatile addition to the Cardinals line.
(55) Pittsburgh Steelers - RB Javonte Williams, North Carolina - The Steelers add a stud running back to help revive their run game.
(56) Seattle Seahawks - EDGE Jayson Oweh, Penn State - The Seahawks could use some pass rush. Oweh's a bit raw, but can develop into a useful piece for Pete Carroll.
(57) Los Angeles Rams - LB Chazz Surratt, North Carolina - The Rams add an athletic player at the second-level to keep their defense playing elite football. With the addition of QB Matthew Stafford, the Rams could be serious contenders for the NFC title in 2021.
(58) Baltimore Ravens - EDGE Quincy Roche, Miami - Adding Roche as a rush end in Martindale's 3-4 defense would be an excellent move as Baltimore seems unlikely to retain both Yannick Ngakoue and Matt Judon.
(59) Cleveland Browns - S Richie Grant, UCF - For a school most associate with high-powered offense, the UCF secondary is loaded, and Grant would make a fine addition for the Browns.
TRADE! The Saints send 2.60 and a 2022 third to the Jets in exchange for QB Sam Darnold.
(60) New York Jets (via NO) - WR Elijah Moore, Ole Miss - He seems to be trending higher than this, but either way, the Jets substitute a backup QB for an explosive wide receiver for Zach Wilson.
(61) Buffalo Bills - OT Spencer Brown, Northern Iowa - The Bills run game needs a boost on the offensive line, and Brown's monstrous frame gives a lot of weight to that.
(62) Dallas Cowboys (via GB) - DT Jay Tufele, USC - After adding offensive line earlier in the second, the Cowboys go back to restocking their defense with talent.
(63) Kansas City Chiefs - WR D'Wayne Eskridge, Western Michigan - The Chiefs likely lose WR Sammy Watkins, but find an explosive piece here to replace him.
(64) Tampa Bay Buccaneers - EDGE Hamilcar Rashed Jr., Oregon State - Rashed has a lot of physical traits that bolster his potential. Letting Todd Bowles develop him would be ideal.

Third Round

(65) Jacksonville Jaguars - EDGE Patrick Jones II, Pittsburgh - Urban Meyer and Jags add a defensive end with a high motor to develop along with Josh Allen and K'Lavon Chaisson.
(66) New York Jets - CB Keith Taylor Jr., Washington - A long, versatile defensive back, Taylor reminds me a good deal of 49ers CB Richard Sherman in his playstyle.
(67) Houston Texans - S Talanoa Hufanga, USC - The Texans continue to overhaul their defense here, bringing in Hufanga to play a handful of roles in their backfield.
(68) Atlanta Falcons - RB Michael Carter, North Carolina - Excellent value for the Falcons here, whether or not they bring back RB Todd Gurley who played on a 1-year deal in 2020.
(69) Cincinnati Bengals - CB Paulson Adebo, Stanford - The Bengals give their defense some reinforcements with the selection of an experienced corner like Adebo.
(70) Philadelphia Eagles - LB Jabrill Cox, LSU - The Eagles add a great athlete to the second-level of their defense. Cox has shown a lot of potential as a modern backer.
(71) Denver Broncos - EDGE Janarius Robinson, Florida State - With Von Miller in a bit of hot water at the moment, Denver make want to add a pass rusher to develop just in case.
(72) Detroit Lions - S Andre Cisco, Syracuse - Detroit's safety play was poor last year. Adding a high potential player like Cisco could be a good move for the rebuilding Lions.
(73) Carolina Panthers - TE Hunter Long, Boston College - Welcome to the board, Carolina! After making a splash trade for QB Deshaun Watson, the Panthers give him another weapon at tight end. Long impressed during the Senior Bowl.
(74) Washington Football Team - LB Cameron McGrone, Michigan - McGrone has some inconsistency to his play, but offers a lot of upside for someone who can straighten him out.
(75) Dallas Cowboys - EDGE Victor Dimukeje, Duke - The Cowboys take a chance on Dimukeje here to help get after opposing QB's more frequently.
(76) New York Giants - WR Rondale Moore, Purdue - I'd anticipate Golden Tate being a cap cut, and if so, Moore would be an explosive slot weapon to replace him.
(77) New England Patriots - PICK FORFEITED
(78) Los Angeles Chargers - EDGE Dayo Odeyingbo, Vanderbilt - A craft, versatile edge rusher, he'd project as an OLB in Staley defense with the Chargers.
(79) Minnesota Vikings - DT Alim McNeill, North Carolina State - The Vikings add an explosive 3-technique to help get their defense turned around in a hurry.
(80) Arizona Cardinals - CB Shaun Wade, Ohio State - Wade was overhyped early on, but would fit well in the Cardinals defense, developing as a future replacement for Patrick Peterson.
(81) Las Vegas Raiders - S Richard Lecounte, Georgia - The Raiders add an experienced safety on the back end who can help them slow down divisional offenses led by Mahomes and Herbert.
(82) Denver Broncos - OT Liam Eichenberg, Notre Dame - The Broncos stop a bit of a slide here for Eichenberg. He has the ability to play RT or on the inside for Denver.
(83) Washington Football Team - S Joshuah Bledsoe, Missouri - An underrated player at the position, Bledsoe has a ton of versatility and would fit very well reinforcing Washington's already stellar defense.
(84) Chicago Bears - QB Kyle Trask, Florida - The Bears don't ignore the QB position entirely, as they take a later-than-expected flier on Trask. He was very good for Florida.
(85) Indianapolis Colts - CB Elijah Molden, Washington - Not the biggest need on the Colts roster, but they should have the cap to plug holes in free agency and pick better players, like Molden, here.
(86) Tennessee Titans - WR Dyami Brown, North Carolina - The Titans do have a stud WR in A.J. Brown, but with Corey Davis likely landing big money elsewhere, adding another player here is important.
(87) New York Jets (via SEA) - EDGE Payton Turner, Houston - A versatile pass rusher who can fit either a 4-3 or 3-4. Whatever system Saleh installs, Turner should find a home quickly.
(88) Las Vegas Raiders (via PIT) - LB Dylan Moses, Alabama - Once considered a potential top-10 pick, Moses has fallen off a bit, but the Raiders take a chance on him nonetheless.
(89) Detroit Lions (via LAR) - WR Tylan Wallace, Oklahoma State - Detroit should probably consider hitting the wide receiver position multiple times in the draft. The cabinet is empty there.
(90) Cleveland Browns - LB Ventrell Miller, Florida - The Browns linebackers are a major weak spot. If Cleveland wants to contend for the division, adding some speed there in Miller would help.
(91) Minnesota Vikings (via BAL) - S Paris Ford, Pittsburgh - With S Anthony Harris likely headed elsewhere in free agency, the Vikings take a chance on the hard-hitting ford as a replacement.
(92) Cleveland Browns - EDGE Rashad Weaver, Pittsburgh - Back-to-back selections of Pitt Panthers here, Rashad is an excellent pass rusher to add into the mix.
(93) Green Bay Packers - DT Tommy Togiai, Ohio State - The Packers add some beef to the inside of their defense, hoping to solidify a shaky group outside of DT Kenny Clark.
(94) Buffalo Bills - iOL Josh Myers, Ohio State - The Bills grab a starting caliber lineman here in Myers, who should help bolster the interior of their offensive line and give a boost to their run game.
(95) Kansas City Chiefs - OT Jackson Carmen, Clemson - The Chiefs need another offensive tackle to throw into the mix, as neither Eric Fisher nor Mitchell Schwartz figure to be around for too much longer.
(96) Tampa Bay Buccaneers - DT Marvin Wilson, Florida State - While Wilson didn't dominant as many expected him to in 2020, perhaps slotting him alongside Vita Vea will free up mismatches for him.
Compensatory Selections
(97) Los Angeles Chargers - G Quinn Meinerz, Wisconsin-Whitewater - Meinrez blew up the Senior Bowl, and could easily land as a top-100 prospect after that showing. LAC is a good fit here.
(98) Philadelphia Eagles - TE Brevin Jordan, Miami - With Zach Ertz and Philadelphia likely parting ways soon enough, Jordan gives the Eagles a gadget replacement in the passing game.
(99) Dallas Cowboys - CB Asante Samuel Jr., Florida State - Another corner for Dallas as they really could use two strong selections to help rebuild the position. Samuel excels in the slot.
(100) New Orleans Saints - WR Amari Rodgers, Clemson - The Saints add the best player on the board here for me, an exceptional wide out who will pair well with Michael Thomas.
(101) Tennessee Titans - DT Marlon Tuipulotu, USC - The Titans add another body to their defensive front, in hopes that Marlon and Simmons can become a dominant duo inside.
(102) Los Angeles Rams - WR Josh Imatorbhebhe, Illinois - One of the most underrated wide outs in the class, due to the lack of offensive savvy around him. Imatorbhebhe reminds me of Kenny Golladay, so pairing him with new Rams QB Matthew Stafford out to be fun.
(103) Minnesota Vikings - EDGE Jordan Smith, UAB - A long, toolsy pass rusher to develop into a sidekick for Danielle Hunter is the pick here for Mike Zimmer and co.
(104) San Francisco 49ers - OT Walker Little, Stanford - I'm certain the 49ers will bring back LT Trent Williams, but how much longer does he really have? Meanwhile, Little can play guard before taking over at left tackle soon enough.
(105) Los Angeles Rams - EDGE Shaka Toney, Penn State - Toney has good burst off the edge and with OLB Leonard Floyd headed towards the market, the Rams could stand to add some pass rushers.
(106) New Orleans Saints - RB Trey Sermon, Ohio State - With a cap crunch, paying $4 million for Latavius Murray may be a luxury the Saints cannot afford. Cutting him and drafting Sermon can offset that.

Fourth Round

Just a reminder, but almost half of all fourth-round selections (46%) are no longer on the roster after two years in their career, so don't take these picks too seriously, as this is also where teams start to diverge from needs a bit more and go best available. The aim is rotational players who might be contributors by their 3rd year with the franchise. If you have a significant need, fill it in free agency, not the day three of the draft. If you're banking on your team to find a starter here at a key position, you're already kind of screwed. Really I'm less focused on needs as opposed to getting good value here. Am trying to avoid doubling up on prospects, but sometimes teams actually do that.
(107) Jacksonville Jaguars - DT Tyler Shelvin, LSU (108) New York Jets - G David Moore, Grambling State (109) Atlanta Falcons - S Hamsah Nasirildeen, Florida State (110) Houston Texans - QB Jaime Newman, Georgia - The Texans don't draft a QB in the first, but do take a chance on Newman's upside to develop behind Bridgewater.
(111) Cleveland Browns - WR Seth Williams, Auburn (112) Cincinnati Bengals - S Jamien Sherwood, Auburn (113) Detroit Lions - EDGE Ronnie Perkins, Oklahoma (114) Carolina Panthers - LB Baron Browning, Ohio State (115) Denver Broncos - RB Jermar Jefferson, Oregon State - With Lindsay hitting the market, maybe the Broncos don't bring him back and Jefferson as a change of pace back behind Gordon instead.
(116) Dallas Cowboys - TE Tommy Tremble, Notre Dame (117) New York Giants - RB Rhamondre Stevenson, Oklahoma - An excellent backup for Saquon Barkley if the Giants don't re-sign Wayne Gallman. (118) San Francisco 49ers - S James Wiggins, Cincinnati (119) Los Angeles Chargers - RB Demetric Falcon, UCLA (120) Minnesota Vikings - WR Dazz Newsome, North Carolina
(121) New England Patriots - WR Whop Philyor, Indiana (122) Las Vegas Raiders - G Sadarius Hutcherson, South Carolina (123) Houston Texans - WR Marlon Williams, UCF (124) Miami Dolphins - DT Jaylen Twyman, Pittsburgh (125) Jacksonville Jaguars - CB Israel Mukuamu, South Carolina - The Jags had a good year out of Sidney Jones, but still could use an intriguing developmental option like Mukuamu behind him.
(126) Minnesota Vikings - LB Pete Werner, Ohio State (127) Tennessee Titans - G Ben Cleveland, Georgia (128) Indianapolis Colts - WR Jaelon Darden, North Texas (129) Pittsburgh Steelers - CB Kary Vincent Jr., LSU - The Steelers get some excellent value here, as I think Vincent is one of the top slot corners in the draft. Could easily replace Hilton. (130) Seattle Seahawks - CB Shakur Brown, Michigan State
(131) Jacksonville Jaguars - LB Monty Rice, Georgia (132) Baltimore Ravens - iOL Trey Hill, Georgia (133) Cleveland Browns - TE Cary Angeline, North Carolina State (134) New Orleans Saints - EDGE Tarron Jackson, Coastal Carolina - With Trey Hendrickson likely departing and Marcus Davenport still yet to hit double-digit sacks, the Saints may look to add another piece to develop here. (135) Minnesota Vikings - RB Khalil Herbert, Virginia Tech
(136) Green Bay Packers - OT James Hudson, Cincinnati (137) Kansas City Chiefs - LB Anthony Hines III, Texas A&M - A quick linebacker, he'd fit nicely into the Chiefs defense alongside Willie Gay and others. (138) Tampa Bay Buccaneers - QB Davis Mills, Stanford (139) New England Patriots - EDGE Adetokunbo Ogundeji, Notre Dame (140) Dallas Cowboys - S Ar'Darius Washington, TCU
(141) Los Angeles Rams - TE Tre McKitty, Georgia (142) Pittsburgh Steelers - DT Darius Stills, West Virginia (143) Green Bay Packers - RB Kylin Hill, Mississippi State - With Aaron Jones hitting the market, the Packers may look for another back to add to their rotation. Hill would be a great addition. (144) Kansas City Chiefs - CB Roger McCreary, Auburn (145) New England Patriots - OT Cordell Volson, North Dakota State

Fifth Round

(146) Jacksonville Jaguars - OT Brady Christensen, BYU (147) New York Jets - DL Brenton Cox, Florida (148) Houston Texans - EDGE Jonathan Cooper, Ohio State (149) Atlanta Falcons - EDGE Kingsley Enagbare, South Carolina - PFF actually lists Enagbare as a top-100 player on their latest big board, which, if accurate, would be tremendous value. (150) Cincinnati Bengals - WR Anthony Schwartz, Auburn
(151) Philadelphia Eagles - CB Robert Rochell, Central Arkansas - Big fan of Rochell's a potential starter down the road. Would fit well with Marcus Gannon calling the defense. (152) Carolina Panthers - G Kendrick Green, Illinois (153) Denver Broncos - QB Kellen Mond, Texas A&M (154) Detroit Lions - CB Kelvin Joseph, Kentucky (155) New York Jets - S Caden Sterns, Texas
(156) San Francisco 49ers - CB Camryn Bynum, California (157) Philadelphia Eagles - OT Adrian Ealy, Oklahoma (158) Minnesota Vikings - CB Rodarius Williams, Oklahoma State (159) New England Patriots - DT Milton Williams, Louisiana Tech (160) Los Angeles Chargers - WR Simi Fehoko, Stanford
(161) Arizona Cardinals - RB Chuba Hubbard, Oklahoma State - He'd be an excellent fit in the Cardinals backfield, especially if Kenyan Drake does not return. (162) Buffalo Bills - CB Tay Gowan, UCF (163) Las Vegas Raiders - QB Feleipe Franks, Arkansas (164) Washington Football Team - WR Jonathan Adams Jr., Arkansas State (165) Chicago Bears - CB D.J. Daniel, Georgia
(166) Indianapolis Colts - OT Brendan Jaimes, Nebraska (167) Tennessee Titans - OLB Charles Snowden, Virginia (168) Seattle Seahawks - OT Dan Moore Jr., Texas A&M (169) Baltimore Ravens - QB Sam Ehlinger, Texas - Unless the Ravens are certain that Trace McSorley is their backup QB, they may want to look at adding Ehlinger behind Lamar. (170) Cleveland Browns - LB Tony Fields II, West Virginia
(171) Jacksonville Jaguars - WR Tamorrion Terry, Florida State (172) Minnesota Vikings - QB Ian Book, Notre Dame (173) San Francisco 49ers - iOL Drake Jackson, Kentucky (174) Green Bay Packers - CB Ambry Thomas, Michigan (175) Buffalo Bills - S Reed Blankenship, Middle Tennessee State
(176) Kansas City Chiefs - EDGE Malcolm Koonce, Buffalo (177) Tampa Bay Buccaneers - LB Garrett Wallow, Texas Christian (178) Green Bay Packers - S Tyree Gillespie, Missouri (179) Atlanta Falcons - C James Empey, BYU - The Falcons find themselves a quality interior lineman who could use a year to develop before getting in the mix to replace Alex Mack down the road. (180) Dallas Cowboys - WR Josh Palmer, Tennessee
(181) Baltimore Ravens - S Qwynterrio Cole, Alcorn State (182) San Francisco 49ers - WR Marquez Stevenson, Houston (183) Kansas City Chiefs - RB Pooka Williams, Kansas

Sixth Round

(184) Tennessee Titans - QB Shane Buechele, Texas (185) New York Jets - LB Paddy Fisher, Northwestern (186) Atlanta Falcons - G Aaron Banks, Notre Dame - Love the value here for the Falcons, and if they do have to cut James Carpenter, Banks could be a useful piece. (187) Houston Texans - iOL Jack Anderson, Texas Tech (188) Philadelphia Eagles - S JaCoby Stevens, LSU (189) Cincinnati Bengals - DT Khryis Tonga, BYU (190) Denver Broncos - DT Bobby Brown III, Texas A&M
(191) Dallas Cowboys - G Josh Sills, Oklahoma State (192) Carolina Panthers - DT Carlo Kemp, Michigan (193) San Francisco 49ers - EDGE Daelin Hayes - The 49ers showed a good deal of interest in Hayes at the Senior Bowl per reports. He'd be a nice depth option on the edge. (194) New England Patriots - CB Benjamin St.-Juste, Minnesota (195) New York Giants - CB Thomas Graham Jr., Oregon
(196) New England Patriots - G Tristen Hoge, BYU (197) Los Angeles Chargers - S Eric Burrell, Wisconsin (198) Minnesota Vikings - OT Alex Himmelman, Illinois State (199) Las Vegas Raiders - PICK FORFEITED (200) New York Giants - LB K.J. Britt, Auburn
(201) Houston Texans - DL Cameron Sample, Tulane (202) Las Vegas Raiders - WR Austin Watkins, UAB (203) Chicago Bears - OT Bryce Matthews, Ole Miss (204) Los Angeles Chargers - WR Isaiah McKoy, Kent State (205) Indianapolis Colts - WR Damon Hazelton, Missouri - This stretch of wide receivers looks like solid value, especially Hazelton in Reich's offense.
(206) Miami Dolphins - TE Kenny Yeboah, Ole Miss - Yeboah got to work with Miami's coaching staff at the Senior Bowl, so I'd imagine they have a good feel for his use. (207) Seattle Seahawks - DT Mustafa Johnson, Colorado (208) Los Angeles Rams - OT Robert Hainsey, Notre Dame (209) Baltimore Ravens - G Robert Jones, Middle Tennessee State (210) Cleveland Browns - CB Trill Williams, Syracuse
(211) Houston Texans - RB Jaret Patterson, Buffalo (212) Buffalo Bills - RB Elijah Mitchell, Louisiana (213) Green Bay Packers - WR Cade Johnson, South Dakota State (214) Pittsburgh Steelers - C Jimmy Morrissey, Pittsburgh (215) Tennessee Titans - S Aashari Crosswell, Arizona State
(216) Atlanta Falcons - LB Derrick Barnes, Purdue (217) Tampa Bay Buccaneers - TE Quintin Morris, Bowling Green (218) Atlanta Falcons - OT Greg Eiland, Mississippi State (219) Philadelphia Eagles - RB Javian Hawkins, Louisville (220) Chicago Bears - EDGE Chris Rumph Jr., Duke
(221) Green Bay Packers - DE William King-Bradley, Baylor (222) Chicago Bears - S Shawn Davis, Florida (223) Minnesota Vikings - G Ben Brown, Ole Miss (224) Philadelphia Eagles - LB Grant Stuard, Houston

Seventh Round

(225) Jacksonville Jaguars - DT Malik Herring, Georgia (226) San Francisco 49ers - TE Noah Gray, Duke (227) Houston Texans - CB Tre Brown, Oklahoma (228) Chicago Bears - LB Justin Hilliard, Ohio State (229) Cincinnati Bengals - EDGE Elerson Smith, Northern Iowa (230) Philadelphia Eagles - WR Ben Skowronek, Northwestern
(231) Cincinnati Bengals - DT TaQuon Graham, Texas (232) Buffalo Bills - S Divine Deablo, Virginia Tech (233) Denver Broncos - S Damar Hamlin, Pittsburgh (234) Green Bay Packers - LB Riley Cole, South Alabama (235) Denver Broncos - WR Cornell Powell, Clemson
(236) San Francisco 49ers - WR Frank Darby, Arizona State (237) Los Angeles Chargers - DB Darrin Hall, San Diego State (238) Minnesota Vikings - WR Trevon Grimes, Florida (239) New England Patriots - DE Wyatt Hubert, Kansas State (240) Arizona Cardinals - OT Jaylon Moore, Western Michigan
(241) Washington Football Team - G Jake Curhan, California (242) Pittsburgh Steelers - CB Bryan Mills, North Carolina Central (243) Washington Football Team - RB Chris Evans, Michigan (244) Las Vegas Raiders - CB Mark Webb, Georgia (245) Indianapolis Colts - RB Larry Roundtree, Missouri
(246) Jacksonville Jaguars - DT Forrest Merrill, Arkansas State (247) New York Jets - WR Tre Walker, (248) Tampa Bay Buccaneers - EDGE Joshua Kaindoh, Florida State (249) Los Angeles Rams - CB Bryce Thompson, Tennessee (250) Cleveland Browns - QB Brady White, Memphis
(251) Denver Broncos - EDGE Patrick Johnson, Tulane (252) New Orleans Saints - PICK FORFEITED (253) Green Bay Packers - DT Jack Heflin, Northern Illinois (254) Cleveland Browns - CB Nahshon Wright, Oregon State (255) Kansas City Chiefs - DT Kobie Whiteside, Missouri (256) Tampa Bay Buccaneers - WR Desmond Fitzpatrick, Louisville
You'll notice there are no special teams listed...mostly because I don't have a clue who needs a K/P/LS. That actually might be something useful to mention if you're team really needs someone.
Feel free to comment...I won't really be looking at them until next week, as I've spent too much time putting this together and now I need a break from this website. Just don't be a d*** is all I ask. It's shockingly hard for some people when it comes to internet mock drafts. Did this for fun, hope you had fun reading it.

Official r/NFL Week 2 Power Rankings

A lack of preseason looks to have caught up to the league, with over 55 players injured in week 2. Look for major shakeups across the board, with a second week of football to feed the fears of some and overhype others. 31/32 reporting
# Team Δ Record Comment
1. Ravens +1 2-0 Why try Lamar Jackson at wide receiver, when Marcus Peters clearly has the best ball handling skills on the team?
2. Chiefs -1 2-0 Buttkicker, so hot right now. Other than the fabulous posterior booter himself, the Chiefs have some things to figure out on offense and defense right now. The offense has not looked quite right through two weeks and Mahomes turned in a pretty bad performance in the first 3 quarters of the game on Sunday. On defense, the Chiefs linebackers continue to be a sore spot as the group might be the worst in the NFL. Overall the defending champs look lethargic in their run it back tour. That will have to change next Monday night against the Ravens, or the Chiefs might be staring down their first loss in a while.
3. Seahawks 0 2-0 Ohhh man. Things are changing in Seattle. Chef Russ is running the kitchen like every Sunday is Thanksgiving. With 5 touchdown passes to 5 different receivers against a tough Patriots secondary (including this absolute dime over Stephon Gilmore), Russell Wilson is on track to MAYBE earn his first MVP vote. But this team seriously needs to address the pass rush. Losing Bruce Irvin for the season is a blow to an already weak unit. Anyway, it felt really nice to stop the Patriots on the goal line and it's really helped with finally getting over SB 49.
4. Packers +1 2-0 The offense was firing on all cylinders against the Lions, even with a half a dozen drops. In a reversal from last week, the defense melted like butter the first two drives and stifled up for the rest of the game. Hopefully the injuries from Tae, Linsley, and Lancaster are minor enough to get them to play next week against the Saints. Team is looking top tier but certainly still some stuff to improve.
5. Bills +2 2-0 After two years of debate, this can finally be said without a shred of irony: shortsman good.
6. Rams +5 2-0 Goff > Wentz
7. Steelers +1 2-0 There were two interesting storylines between Pittsburgh and Denver. One was that despite all of Denver's d00ds getting KIA'd, they somehow managed to stick around and give the Steelers a real scare...with a bunch of backups. The other is that Mike Hilton is channeling his inner Robert Horry to be the 6th man of the year. He's put together 2 solid performances in a row while playing just 2/3 of the snaps from the nickel. In a defensive backfield with names like Minkah and Haden, having clutch play from a situational guy is an interesting wrinkle that might turn into a trend.
8. Titans +1 2-0 The Titans got to 2-0 for the first time since 2008 on Sunday. With a 4 TD/0 turnover game by Ryan Tannehill, two interceptions by the defense and another late FG by Gostkowski, the Titans were able to do enough to outpace exciting Jaguars offense.
9. Saints -5 1-1 Saints fans could be forgiven for thinking they've watching their team in the preseason games the last two weeks; all that's missing is the giant ugly logo on the broadcast. The team has looked rusty, and while the game started well for the defense, the Raiders obviously picked up a hitchhiking Daniel Sennert on their move to Las Vegas as their adjustments proved the corpuscles in the Saints defense could be divided with regularity.
10. Cardinals +2 2-0 It feels like it's been years since the Cards cruised to a win like that. Murray and the offense continued humming, the defense had timely turnovers, and the kicking woes Zane Gonzalez had last week were forgotten. There's still plenty of room for improvement as the team will face a Lions team that will be desperate for it's first win, but it's hard not to think the future is looking bright two weeks in.
11. Patriots -1 1-1 That was the best the Patriots have looked coming out of a loss since 2012 against San Francisco. The defensive front needs work but the offense is officially going to work out. Next few weeks are gonna be hard with the surprising Raiders and KC coming up.
12. 49ers -6 1-1 There is no way to overstate the effect of the injuries this weekend. Bosa and Thomas are irreplaceable. Prior to his injury, Mostert hit the highest top speed recorded in 5 years on 80 yard touchdown run. While Nick Mullens is a good backup, he struggled when entering in relief of Jimmy G. It will be a credit to Shanahan's coaching and culture if they are able to continue to compete for the divisional crown with these losses.
13. Raiders +5 2-0 The Raiders are the best team in the league.
14. Buccaneers +1 1-1 It turns out that maybe the Jaguars cutting Leonard Fournette in his prime wasn't the best idea. The former top 5 pick ran for over 100 yards against Carolina, finishing with a 46 yard walk-off TD run. Despite the absence of 2019 All-Pro WR Chris Godwin, Brady looked far more comfortable in the Bucs offense, though hindered by far too many drops. Speaking of receivers: future HOF TE Rob Gronkowski has been absent, racking up a combined 2 receptions for 11 yards through two games. The Bucs head to Denver to face an ailing Broncos team in week 3 with a chance to spark some momentum on the season.
15. Cowboys -2 1-1 Depending on wind speed, cloud cover, or maybe the number of fans holding a beer in the left hand while the sum of the jersey numbers for the 22 guys on the field was divisible by 3, the Dallas Cowboys were either Super Bowl contenders or the Washington Generals. The win was awesome, unexpected, and unprecedented, but based on the state of the division, the biggest win may be to have survived the game with no new significant injuries.
16. Bears +4 2-0 After squeaking by a pair of 0-2 teams on the last play of each game...the Bears have to be the shakiest 2-0 team in the league. But you have heard of them. The Bears have put together some great quarters on both sides of the ball and some absolute stinkers. Is this inconsistency a function of a limited preseason, or will Bears fans be riding a mediocre roller coaster all year? Only time will tell, but next week's game against Matt Ryan and the Falcons will test at least the defense. Oh, and extend Allen Robinson.
17. Colts +6 1-1 0-2 isn't a death sentence, but 1-1 is a much better feeling after the Colts controlled the Vikings from start to finish in a 28-11 win. The defense offered encouragement after stepping up from the previous week.
18. Texans -2 0-2 At no point during the entire contest did the Texans look like a real threat to the Ravens. Ultimately, if they can't compete with the best, the Texans are (as always) doomed to another year of patent mediocrity.
19. Chargers +2 1-1 Just about the only thing that went as expected was the Chiefs taking the victory in this game. Everything else up to that didn't just come out of left field, but from the second deck of the stands. Justin Herbert forgot that he had to be nervous lining up across from the defending Super Bowl champs. Herbert made some rookie mistakes, but was absolutely electric for most of the game. The running game and defense threw everything and the kitchen sink at the Chiefs. The coaching staff still has a sizeable amount of faith in Tyrod but there's a very compelling case for Herbert to get the call earlier than anticipated.
20. Falcons -1 0-2 Mere seconds before Atlanta's hands team lined up across Dallas's, coach Quinn had final words for the huddle. "What's the most important rule of the onside?!" "Wait 10 yards!" The entire team yelled back in unison, charging the field. Holding back tears, Quinn watched as they took their positions. He had never felt prouder of his men and their collective preparedness than in this moment. After so many years of heartbreak, the Falcons were finally going to pull out a close one.
21. Jaguars +3 1-1 There are no moral victories in the National Football League. While true, the Jaguars came as close to one as you might could imagine, only slightly being outgunned by the Titans this week. The young squad needs to shore up some issues on the defensive side of the ball, but Jaguars fans undoubtedly find themselves... happy with an offense? (Blurbist checking notes, rambling as they pace in circles something about 'Minshew Magic' being real.)
22. Vikings -8 0-2 RIP Vikings
23. Eagles -6 0-2 Carson Wentz had a passer rating under 74 twice in 40 starts from 2017 through 2019. He’s had two in the last 8 days. The Eagles' defense has now allowed 64 points in two games, that’s the most they’ve allowed after 2 games since 1971.
24. Browns +7 1-1 The Browns are..... a running team? Having to split the work load between to running backs can be an issue. Unless both are averaging 5+ypc and scoring TDs. The Browns take on the struggling Washington Football team next Sunday.
25. Washington FT 0 1-1 And after a feel good week one victory, the hype train has derailed trying to chase after Kyler Murray. While the defensive line is impressive, the secondary is a major liability and Dwayne Haskins and the offense still have miles to go. One of the biggest takeaways this game was why Ron Rivera decided to tap out in the final few minutes down 2 scores still armed with 3 timeouts. In a season where instituting a culture seems to be the priority what does this say to the team?
26. Broncos -4 0-2 ATTENTION: All healthy men between the ages of 21-35. The Denver Broncos are looking for qualified applicants at the following positions: QB, RB, WR, EDGE, CB. Send resumes and cover letters to @JohnElway on Twitter to be considered.
27. Bengals 0 0-2 AJ Green had 3 receptions on 13 targets, meanwhile Tyler Boyd had 7 receptions on 8 targets. The chemistry between Burrow and Green just isn't there yet. Bengals fans hope it is merely rust and a lack of reps between the two, and not a sign that AJ Green is washed and doesn't have it anymore.
28. Dolphins +1 0-2 It sucks to start off with two divisional losses, but this is about where a team should be in year two of a three to four year rebuild. That said, letting Josh Allen look like Dan Marino in Miami is not acceptable, even if Byron Jones was out for most of the game. The defense was supposed to be the strong side of this team, and that hasn't shown itself yet.
29. Lions -3 0-2 “You can’t have a 4th quarter implosion if it happens in the 3rd quarter.” If Coach Patricia thinks that technicalities are going to save his job, well I sure hope he’s wrong. The Lions continue to break against the run, pass and even the pass rush. There was no reason to expect anything different honestly. The offense is starting fast, but seemingly burning out so quick. It’s hard to point out a single variable that’ll lead to wins, so let’s just say FTP and it’s on to Arizona.
30. Panthers -2 0-2 A team which was already struggling mightily with its toothless defense and a QB that's more game manager than game changer has just lost its best offensive weapon. Our quality of loss might be somewhat improved by the Raiders win against the Saints this week, but that hardly matters to a team that looks positively lost on at least one side of the ball. With CMC on ice, the offense that runs through him will almost certainly suffer. Even in a weak division in which anyone can emerge, 2020 is looking like a lost rebuilding year for Matt Rhule's new team.
31. Giants -1 0-2 it was a tale of two halves Sunday as the Giants followed up an anemic first half with a strong second half finish that put them in position to win the game in its final moments. That didn't happen, but seeing James Bradberry and Blake Martinez more than live up to their contracts was a nice consolation prize. Worse than losing the game, though, was the loss of star RB and face of the franchise Saquon Barkley. Here's to hoping he comes back stronger next year. In week 3, the banged up Giants take on the even more banged up 49ers. Who will come away victorious in the injury bowl?
32. Jets -- 0-2 The best time to fire Adam Gase was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.

r/NFL Top 100 Players of the 2019 Season - #20-11

Welcome to the reveal for players ranked 20-11 for this year’s NFL Top 100 Players for the 2019 Season!

Players whose average rank had them land in places 20-11 are on this portion of the list revealed today. Players are associated with the team they finished 2019 with.
Below you will see write-ups from rankers summarizing the players' 2019 season and why they were among the best in 2019. Stats for each player are from this season and are included below. Additionally, their previous ranks in this long running series are also available for all of you.
Methodology
LINK TO THE HUB POST WITH A MORE DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE METHODOLOGY
  1. A CALL FOR RANKERS just after the Super Bowl.
  2. Rankers for each team nominated players to rank. 10 Games Played Minimum Threshold. Players are associated with the team they finished the 2019 Season with.
  3. The Grind. Utilize ranking threads for individual rankers broken up by positional group. Users were tasked with ranking players within the following tiers based on their evaluation: T-25, T-50, T-100, T-125 based on 2019 regular season only. There were no individual case threads. There were no arbitrary position limit caps. Just questions and rankings.
  4. Users submitted their individual Top 125 list. Ranking out to 125 is new for this year.
  5. User lists were reviewed for outliers by me with assistance from two former rankers. Users were permitted to correct any mistakes found. Once complete, lists were locked.
  6. Reveal the list… right now.
So now, without further ado, here are the players ranked 20-11 in the NFL Top 100 Players of the 2019 Season!

Khalil Mack. Von Miller. JJ Watt. Those are the names that come up when you mention edge players in the NFL over the last half a decade. Yet none have as many sacks as Danielle Hunter in the last two years. Hunter is continually passed over in the conversation of edge rushers. Even among young edge rushers like the Bosa brothers, TJ Watt, Myles Garrett, and Bradley Chubb, Hunter is forgotten. He only received 4 All Pro votes from AP (of a possible 50). He failed to make PFF’s All Pro team. Is it because he wasn’t a 1st round pick? Is it because the Vikings defense was already dominant before his arrival?
Hunter has improved every year he’s gotten into the league (88 pressures this year vs 67 last year vs 55 in 2016). His first couple years in the league, he rotated in behind Everson Griffen and Brian Robinson. Yet he holds the record for most sacks before his 25th birthday and was one of only a handful of players in 2019 with double digit sacks and 15+ TFLs last season. He earned an 89.0 overall grade from PFF and forced 3 fumbles this year.
Beyond the numbers, Hunter is a unit. He came out of LSU as one of the more raw pass rushers in his draft. However, under the tutelage of the mighty Andre Patterson, Hunter has become one of the most athletic, versatile, technical, dominant edge defenders in the game. He can beat you with a pure bull rush, but he can also beat you with his speed and agility. He’s picked up Everson Griffen’s deadly spin move and has the motor to work through double teams. He can win with an inside move, or he can play pure 3T for an entire game (a la vs NO). He’s got a great understanding of the game and is a force to be reckoned with. If you’re placing bets for DPOY in 2020, don’t waste your money on the big name guys like Aaron Donald (+750) or Khalil Mack (+1100). Don’t spend it on young up and comers, lke Nick Bosa (+1300) or TJ Watt (+1500) either. Place it on Danielle Hunter (+2300). He’s going to continue dominating as he gains more recognition and climbs toward stardom.

At the beginning of the 2019 NFL season Bruce Arians said:
"I think Chris Godwin is going to be close to a 100-catch guy, especially because I think he can play in the slot,"...."He's never coming off the field."
Bucs fans thought this could be very well true in BA's system, especially with the departure of Desean Jackson which only really left Mike Evans as the only other real target on the team.
The 3rd round pick from Penn State showed up big time this year after having two relatively quiet seasons. Through 13.5 games (missing the final 2.5 due to a hamstring injury) he amassed 86 receptions for 1,333 yards, 9 TDs and only one drop(In fact he's only had 2 drops total in 2018 & 2019)He very well could have gone over 100 receptions , 1,500 yards as well as double digit TDs, but that's just projecting right?
According to PFF he was an absolute monster in the slot with an outstanding 96.5 grade, which shows he can line up anywhere on the field and still produce big time for the Buccaneers.
In 2020, I honestly expect Chris Godwin to have close to the same production, and possibly even better with how much he produces from the slot.
Please don't leave us…

Selecting a guard 6th overall was a bold movie for second year GM Chris Ballard, even one as highly touted as Quenton Nelson. Casual fans hated it, while draft junkies loved it. Two years later, it’s become clear that the pick was a home run. Nelson’s selection single handedly turned around a unit that was largely responsible for a slew of injuries to Andrew Luck into one of the best units. Nelson’s second year was only better, cementing himself as one of the best guards in the league, a true road grader. He spent the past year terrorizing nfl defensive lineman en route to his second pro bowl and all pro selections. Plus, he pulled off what was by far the best touchdown celebration of the season

I would just like to start with a moment of silence for the fans of the New York Jets after Jamal Adams recently demanded a trade from that inept organization with a dumpster fire of a coach in Adam Gase.
Anyways, after an incredible sophomore season, Adams has kept up with his awesome play in his third season as one of the NFL's best and most versatile defensive players as well as the clear-cut best player on a football team that somehow won seven games. Adams, also known as President 'Mal, recorded an interception (which was returned 61 yards to the house), 7 passes defended, 11 hurries, and 36 stops, but that's not all! Adams also garnered 6.5 sacks (which is amazing for a DB) and forced two fumbles (like this one he returned to the house on my guy Daniel Jones 😔). With his exceptional play, the star safety was named to the 1st Team All-Pro as well as his second Pro Bowl selection (an honor which none of his other Jets teammates got this year).
What makes Adams so special is that he is exceptional against both the running and passing game. Whether he's with Gang Green or another franchise next year, I'd expect another stellar season out of Jamal Adams in 2020 (assuming there is one) and even as a Giants fan who watched him dominate my team this past season, I really appreciate the guy's play.

DERRRRIIIICK HENRY!!!
This part man part tractor was the plow that turned our barren field into a bountiful wheat field full of Nashville Hot Chicken. This beautiful muscly man with a poop rat tail decimated opponents and General Sherman'd the AFC South. Totaling at 1540 yards and 16 Touchdowns in 15 games, with 6 coming from a slow start in a Mariota lead offense, he caught fire and dragged his nuts all over teams like the Chargers, Chiefs, Jags, Colts, Texans, Raiders and was showing just absolute dominance on the field. (Sadly we arent able to take the playoffs into account otherwise i'd gush over how he embarrassed a couple of scrub one and done teams).
Henry has this certain tenacity and a godlike level of endurance that just makes him an absolute beast in the 2nd half. He is just able to keep going, and going, and going, until finally, players get tired of it and turn into lead blockers for him. He is extremely hard to tackle to. Take a look at this play against the Chiefs in week 10, guys just bounce off him like he's running through toddlers. Derrick Henry is so hard to tackle that, according to PFF, Henry had over 1200 of his 1540 total yards after contact. Like this dude was getting hit at the line of scrimmage and he is just like, fuck this shit, i aint no dion lewis, and keeps going. How is this guy even real???
Another thing about Henry is his speed! Henry is a 6'3" 240 pound dude running 20+ MPH down the field when he breaks the open one. Like look at this speed he gets vs the Browns in week 1. Or this one against the Jags where he outruns guys and stiff arms the ones who barely managed to keep pace. Speaking of stiff arms, Derrick Henry has one of, if not, the BEST Stiff Arm in the league. If I had to pick a way to die, I think I would like Henry to stiff arm me in the face running at me at 21 miles per hour with this face, because there would be no greater honor to a titans fan than death by Henry. That concludes my Henry jerk fest. Here are some more highlights. and here are the real link.

Travis Kelce was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2013 draft. He wound up missing his rookie season due needing to receive microfracture surgery on his knee over the offseason and dealing with a bone bruise during the season. Since then he's received 4 All-Pro designations and was named to the NFL 2010s All-Decade team. He's also become the 1st TE in NFL history to have 4 straight 1,000+ yard seasons. Not bad considering how his career got started.
In 2019 he finished his 2nd straight season of 1,200+ yards and 3rd straight season leading the league in deep receiving yards by a tight end (274). He finished top 4 in overall TE grade for the 4th straight year (85.1), and was named to his second 2nd-team All-Pro designation. In the Sunday Night Football contest against the Chicago Bears he caught his 500th career reception, becoming the fastest TE in NFL history to reach that mark.
There's no doubt that Kelce is one of the best tight ends in the game, and winding up in the top 20 proves many believe him to be one of the very best players in the league. Since Gronk's decline it's essentially been between him and George Kittle for the top player at the position. He's a key component of what Andy Reid and the Chiefs like to do on offense, even as stacked as the offence is. With a Super Bowl victory and a few records to his name already his legacy will be decided by how long he can keep up his premier play. His partnership with Patrick Mahomes should take him to a locked up Hall of Fame bust.

In 2017, sb nation wrote an article claiming that Ryan Ramczyk wasn't a first round talent at LT. The site went so far as to say he would benefit from a switch to RT. In short, they ended up nailing that on the head. The three-year vet has spent almost the entirety of his career anchoring the right side of the Saints O-line after being picked at 32 overall, and boy, has it worked out for both the team and the Wisconsin alum.
Ram makes the /nfl top 100 list for two reasons. First, he was really good. Second, we really wanted to hammer in the idea that the Saints O-line as a whole was really good. Most notably, Ram exits the 2019 season with his first first-team all pro, and he was more than deserving of it. Similar to teammate Terron Armstead, Ram refused to allow Brees or Teddy to be touched, giving up no sacks on the season. Even better, Ram kept his QBs almost squeaky clean in the pocket, allowing just one hit on the entire season, good for 2nd best in the league among nominated tackles. And Ram didn't just do well in pass pro; he was PFFs top graded OT when run-blocking, showcasing his power and quickness from his spot. In total, Ram spent the 2019 season as the biggest challenge for opposing D-lines to overcome when facing the Saints.

It's a bird, it’s a plane, no it's Jet Jones! In his 9th season Julio continues to be one of the most dominant receivers in the NFL, and the undisputed best player on the team. He’s a force that defenses must give their full attention, and even then he can explode. Even when he doesn’t get the ball, his influence and abilities still shape the play, and better everyone around him. This past offseason Julio agreed to a three-year contract extension worth $66 million, making him the NFL’s highest paid WR, and extending him to 2023. Even though 2019 was a down year statistically, Julio continued to show why the money is worth it. In a “down year” Julio was 2nd in reception yards, 3rd in Yards/Game, and 1st in Scrimmage Yards/Touch, and made his 6th consecutive Pro-Bowl.
But stats can hardly capture the elite combination of athleticism and skill that makes Julio so great. A combination perfectly captured here where Julio is able to jump over the coverage of CB Leodis McKelvin and then tiptoe to complete the coverage on the way down. Later that same game, with the Falcons against the wall, Julio showed that no man can catch him in a 53-yard burst (shoutout to Jake Matthews for the Pancake Block). Julio utilized his route skills to make CB Pierre Desir eat turf before making a 34-yard reception; which likely would have been much more if Ryan didn’t underthrow it. He’s pretty good at catching too, exhibited as reaches over CB Quincy Wilson and manages to hold onto the ball through tackles from Wilson and SS Clayton Geathers to score. Doesn’t matter who you are, Luke Keuchly, Marshon Lattimore, AJ Bouye; doesn’t matter. bUt hE dOEsn’T gET tOUchDoWnS I hear the Fantasy owners say. Watch this and notice how often in the redzone Julio is serving to support his team (blocks, inside presence, taking double defenders), or is just ignored. He’s open more often people realize.
Even in a disappointing season for the Falcons, Julio continues to shine through as one of the NFL’s premiere combos of athleticism and skill. Julio is and will continue to be an absolute force for the offense.

In my write up of ChanJo last year, I mentioned that the return to the 3/4 (even if it's under Vance Joseph) will be huge for his stats. And boy howdy was it! At 30 years old and after double digit sack totals for 5 straight years, Jones set a career high of sacks at 19 this year. He had 8 Forced Fumbles, 53 Tackles, and 26 QB hits. Most of his stats improved from 2018, some more drastically than others. His pass coverage marginally improved but why the hell would you really want him to cover guys? (Don't say it Niners fans, DON'T SAY IT)
Chandler Jones is the prototype for edge defenders. He is what all other Defensive Coordinators wish they had. Strong, fast, smart, consistent. Here's a guys opinion and a breakdown. Here's some highlights because not everybody watched all 16 Cardinals games last year and I don't blame them. I think he will rank even higher next year if he stays healthy because he will finally get to settle into a defense again. Even if it's Vance Joseph's.

Where to begin with Ronnie Stanley? Oh, how about a nearly minute long clip of him absolutely bullying First Team All Pro and NFC DPOY Chandler Jones. You like that? (Sorry Cards fans, but hey we all know Chandler Jones is a beast). Ronnie Stanley was the best LT in the league. No wait, actually he was the best overall tackle in the league. Actually, Stanley was the best lineman in the league, bar none. I truly believe Stanley was a top 5 player in the NFL last season and even tried (and failed/came to senses) to argue Stanley as a top 2 player. His dominance on the left side of that line was unprecedented.
I know stats don’t paint the entire picture, especially for OL, but I have to start there because his stats were unworldly as a blindside protector facing the best pass rushers the NFL has to offer. Going against the likes of TJ Watt twice a year, Carlos Dunlap twice a year, Myles Garrett, Chandler Jones, Nick Bosa, Shaq Barrett (need I go on), he allowed zero sacks and six pressures on 445 pass blocking snaps. Of tackles with at least 400 pass blocking snaps to allow 6 pressures or less, he was the only one. Wait, the only one? Let’s expand. 10 pressures on 400 snaps? Hmm. Only Ronnie Stanley. 15? Hmm only Ronnie Stanley. 20 and no sacks? Only Ronnie Stanley. Unreal.
So how does he do it? Well for starters, he has an elite pass rusher’s explosion as an offensive lineman. He can pack a pop that will knock the best rushers off line or on their ass without overextending. Just ask Nick Bosa. Refer back to the Chandler Jones lowlight reel for a second and check out how often he simply beats Jones (one of the most explosive and best bending edge rushers in the game) to his spot time and time again. Stanley is out of his stance so fast it looks like he’s false starting and, be it film review/sixth sense/sheer athleticism (my money is on all three), he hits the pass rushers’ marks before they do. Sometimes, he even chips defenders to the ground he doesn’t have a responsibility for. Because of these reasons, he’s basically the only lineman in the game not playing catchup and is tremendously equipped to react to counters. In the run game, he was a driving reason behind that team’s record setting running success. He can be a mauler, but with his speed also can pull like the best guards in the game and lead block for some of the fastest players in the game.
At the end of the day, his dominance in both pass blocking and run blocking makes him a worthy top 15 player, and if not for a tendency to underrate linemen, I believe he should’ve been a shoe-in for the top 10. If you read this far, thank you. Now I need to go puke after that glowing endorsement for a Raven.

Why I Believe the 2020-2021 Arizona Cardinals can Win the Superbowl: A Thread

Why I Believe the 2020-2021 Arizona Cardinals can Win the Superbowl: A Thread
Alright you crazy sons of bitches. This is my 3rd post in a row unless someone cuts me off here as I write this. I'm sitting here listening to this on repeat so I'm jacked to the tits and ready to run through a wall. Lastly, I would like to specify that even though I'm a die hard fan of this team, there is absolutely no bias in this post. :) Anyways, here's what we gotta do.

Step 1: Win 2 of our first 3.

Realistically, this should be doable if we are to be a playoff team, which, if we do not make the playoffs, our chances of winning the superbowl drop dramatically. So it's important.

Week 1: We start with the whiners at their house. No big deal. As of right now, I believe we are 7 point underdogs. Good. Shock the World. Let's make a statement week 1. The 49ers are a bit beat up at WR and possibly missing Warner for this game, hopefully they get healthy for week 2. I'm just going to predict this as a loss assuming the defense just does not gel right off the bat and we lose like 42-35 or something. Don't be surprised if we fuck them up.
Week 2: Week 2 we head back to AZ for a matchup with the football team(lol). Humphries might struggle with Chase Young a bit but dat boy(Kyler) fast. Our offense just outruns them as our defense struggles against whoever their QB is between Haskins and Smith. Also, CJ55 with an easy 2+ sack game here. Cards win 31- 21
Week 3: Nice to see you again cat bros. We pick up right where we left off in the 4Q of our matchup last year. Cards win 35-28 (Defense still cheeks at this point and Stafford not hurt yet)

Step 2: Win 3 of our next 5.

Honestly, we could win all 5 of these games... But I'm assuming a loss to the Seahawks and a trap game from one of the Panthers, Jets or Dolphins.

Week 4: I fucking hate the Panthers. Stupid ass cats. We lose this game as it's our east coast 10:00 AM of the year. Panthers win 27- 20. Fallout on Bickley and Marotta is awful and people start to think this team is just average sitting at 2-2. Defense still struggling.
Week 5: J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets. How many letters was that? Most Jets fans can't count that high. But it's 4. The same number of Picks Darnold throws in this game before getting boo'd off the field in New Jersey. P2 gets 2. Hicks with 1. Baker's first career interception. Don't forget where he lights up Bell for a FF and FR ending in a TD. Baker wins DPOW and the haters finally believe the contract was worth it? Oh btw, who is gonna block the best pass rusher in the world? Oh... You can't name a Jets offense lineman? Me neither. CJ gets 4 sacks just like he did the last time he played at Metlife. Cards win 45-7.
Week 6: Cowboys on MNF.... What else do I need to say? Turns out that this is the real statement game. The amazing run stopping tandem of Hicks, Baker, and Simmons running side to side all over the field just devour Zeke and take his cereal or whatever he eats when he spoon feeds his fat ass self. Cards win in another blowout 38-10. Jerry considers starting Dalton.
Week 7: SEA CAWWWKKKSSS. Fuck the Seahawks. All my homies hate the Seahawks. We still lose because it's in Glendale. Sucks, defense regresses a bit against a very experienced Russel Wilson. Hawks win 24-17
Week 8: Bye Week. Who wins? The titos in my fridge lives for another week and our QB plays a ton of Madden on stream instead of going out partying. No one gets the Rona and we move on to week 9. Cards win 69-0.
Week 9: The return of the Rosen one(even though Tua starts)Too bad it's going to get ugly. The defense finally shows some consistency and the ability to get stops without having to force a turnover. Cards win in the first home game with limited fans on the year! Cards win 31-17. Expect a big week from CJ55 btw.

Step 3: Survive

8 games in and we are sitting at 5-3. Could easily be 8-0 or 7-1 but for realism I'm saying 5-3. It is the NFL after all. These next games are fucking brutal. All we have to do is win 4 to make the playoffs. I'm thinking 9-7 gets us in with the 7th seed added. Buckle up kids here we go.
Week 10: Hey, Bills Mafia. How are you? We have the perfect linebacker in Simmons to prevent your RB playing QB from killing us. Cards grind out a tough win at home 20-17.
Week 11: Rainy city bitch pigeons. This one is a little early in the season for my liking but whatever. We are heading to Seattle. This is a lock for us. Always a W. Kyler puts on a show on TNF to get some national attention on his MVP season he has been putting together. Cards win 33-27.
Week 12: The last time we played in Foxborough(spelling?) we lucked out and won on a Gostowski miss at the end of the game. 2012 Kevin Kolb gang rise up. The Empire has not forgiven us. BB somehow beats us with Jarret Stidham because Cam has a broken rib. NE wins 21-20.
Week 13: Rams at home. It's been a tough season for the Rams. They still have Aaron Donald though. A DPOW performance from Donald working against Pugh and Cole costs us the game as the Rams win 28-24 and Donald has 6 sacks. fuck....
Week 14: For the 2nd time this year, we are heading to Metlife. A much closer game this time as Danny Dimes decides he doesn't like Chandler Jones and only gets sacked once. Sad I know. Doesn't matter though. This team is resilient and coming off 2 losses, they fight hard to get a much needed win. Cards win 35-31.
Week 15: The Iggles. Not sure why. I just don't see us winning this game. Which is weird because Larry owns them. Either way, gut instinct. Cards lose 27-24 and we start to wonder if this 8-6 team is going to make the playoffs.
Week 16: In their final statement game of the regular season, the Cardinals decide they don't like the 49ers. In my dreams Corona is over and this in front of the Red Sea including myself on Saturday night football and it's one of the best games of the year. Cards get into a thriller and win on a Insane4Zane kick at the end of regulation. Cards win 27-24.
Week 17: Revenge of the Birds. Rams are out of the playoffs. Cardinals are playing to be the 5 instead of the 7. Cards fuck em up on a fantastic performance from Nuk who has 3 touchdowns and 218 yards. Ramsey demands to be traded in the offseason immediately after. Cards win 49-20.

Step 4: Rely on the Stars

This is where anything can happen and because I do not know the opponents, I cannot predict games. However, I do know, we would be underdogs in every game. Reminds me of 08. I break out the old Shock the World Poster and we let the players make big plays in big games. And this time we have even more. Let's take a look at our 08 roster and compare it with what we have now.
Offense:
https://preview.redd.it/nxenjmiwxek51.png?width=726&format=png&auto=webp&s=66348da8a8e6d87c03dfdffdf6a3a55e3e4669ad
Okay, looking at this offense. We have Kyler Murray who is our superstar QB, don't be surprised if he has similar numbers to Warner here. Our WRs rival that of 08 as well with Kirk, Nuk and Fitz.
At TE we have the GOAT himself Dan Arnold instead of Leonard Pope. Oline I would say is about the same. Nothing special, but can get the job done.

Defense:

https://preview.redd.it/qq8fr4vayek51.png?width=719&format=png&auto=webp&s=1511e5b3ce4ae699379d2b7895da831ee4b247dc
I feel like our defense by the end of the year will be miles ahead of where this team was. I think Lawrence will be a breakout player on our Dline and Peters, Phillips will be very solid as usual. Jones coming off the edge has another 17+ season which as you can see is wayyyy better than any of these boys. Our Karlos Dansby is Jordan Hicks. Please don't sleep on Hicks he's fantastic and going to show it again this year. P2> DRC all day. Baker is our star saftey to Rival ADUB.

Once again, we do not need everyone to step up. Think about the 08 run. Who stepped up bigly? I mean the whole team obviously did but I think of Fitz, Dockett, Dansby and Wilson.
If we can have a few of our big stars to step up we can make a very similar run. Except I think this 2020-2021 has even more star power than we did in 08. I truly believe if we make the playoffs like we should, this team will rally around Larry and make a magical run like we did in 08, except this time we're better and cap it off with a superbowl ring.

Season Summary/Awards
OROY: Josh Jones - Comes in around week 5 to replace a broken Hump and plays tremendously only giving up 1 sack as a rookie.
DROY: Don't hate me, but Rashard Lawrence. Simmons has a good year, but Lawrence goes off. 7 sacks and 14 TFL in his rookie year playing D-Line. Whoooooo that boy good. He's so mature and professional he just puts it together quickly. Simmons has a learning curve playing WLB.
Comeback player of the year: P2. He plays lockdown all year like the P2 of old and gets a new contract so he can retire in Cardinal Red.
OPOY: Come on, it's Kyler. Expect a great year.
DPOY: Dat boy CJ55. Baker and Hicks also in the running. CJ55 wins the NFL DPOY though for the first time so this has to go to him.
SB MVP: Larry Fitzgerald. Please.

Let's fucking go boys. I haven't been this excited for a season since 2016. Although that didn't end well.
TL;DR: Make the playoffs and let the superstars carry us in a similar fashion to 08.

LONG POST ALERT: Trusting the Process - what I'm keeping the same and what I'm changing for next year

Edit: Wow, thanks for the upvotes and comments guys! This sub has helped me out plenty of times so glad I could give something back people thought was useful!

I've been seeing a lot of posts about which players were league winners / losers this year and Must Draft / Do not Draft for 2020 lists already. While it's useful data to have, I think the more important information to have as team managers are the process hits / misses from the year, rather than the player hits / misses. Taking CMC at number 2 overall probably paid off for you regardless of whether you autodrafted or put in a whole offseason of research - and taking Kamara 3rd or 4th overall probably bit you regardless. We can't control who overperforms or underperforms consensus, but what we CAN control is how we choose to build our teams and what external knowledge we use to help our decisions (and how much weight we give that).

I know every league is different and there are plenty of cat-skinning techniques that will win you a league. But I figured I would list everything that worked for me process-wise this year (and everything that didn't) in case any of it is useful to anyone else on this sub. I had a good year this year, cashing more often than not in the leagues that I played, so there's more that worked that didn't. I'd be curious to hear what adjustments people made before this season or are considering making to their process after this season. Even if people disagree with some of what I've posted, I think that's good too because it hopefully means people think about WHY they disagree and it helps inform their process that way for next year as well. Here goes!

WORKED: Having lots of high floor players
Once I was past the first few rounds of startups/redrafts last year, I targeted a lot of high-floor players (slot receivers like Beasley, Crowder, etc., RBs like James White). They seem undervalued in general, but they helped we win a couple championships. Having a lot of floor players meant that I was still alive in matchups for longer and gave me the option of ceiling-gambling in late games if necessary or just keeping more floor guys in there to lock in a win if I'd done well enough early. This particularly helped in bigger leagues (14-16 teams) where just being able to start a guy at each position knowing they'll definitely score points is usually enough to win you a matchup. I'm going to roll this strategy out again next year for sure. I've also tended to notice that once I'm past round 10ish in a lot of leagues the rest of my picks tend to be the same so if the bottom of my roster shares are the same in multiple leagues, I really want to avoid a large bust component there!

FAILED: Stockpiling TEs late in a TE premium league
One of the leagues I played in this year was a TE premium league. Rather than go hard early after one of the blue chip guys (Kelce, Ertz, Kittle) I thought that targeting a bunch of TEs late (Burton, Olsen, etc.) late would be an easy way to get decent roster contributors. This didn't work out since TE has been such a wasteland the last couple of years that there aren’t really "meh" options, just good options or bad options. Next year, if I miss out on the TE studs early, I'm going to gamble on upside since the positional floor is so low that floor plays aren't worth it.

**WORKED: Going positionless (BPA) for the first few rounds.*\*
This gets preached a lot and I hadn't really bought into it before this year. But two things happened which made me finally build a positionless draft spreadsheet this year. One was an absolutely disastrous league in 2018 where around rounds 3/4 I was set on drafting RB followed by WR and after seeing Mixon go off the board I drafted McKinnon, and followed that up with Baldwin right after Cooper went off the board. Yup. I wanted to avoid that disaster again and make it easier for me to pivot positions. This was helped by joining a league with an interesting format (2QB, 8 W/T FLEX) which meant I had to actually chase total value rather than positional value. I ended up winning that league this year I think in part to having a slight head start in truly going BPA in the startup draft. If anyone's actually curious about how I built that spreadsheet, just let me know in the comments and I'll post info there.

WORKED: Waiting on drafting QBs, but drafting a few of them
A little bit of a follow-on from the floor section, but if you're investing in a lot of surefire "floor" at WRB once you're past the blue chip guys, you have to chase ceiling somewhere. I think that QB is the best place to chase it since you can scoop a couple QBs late in drafts. I moneyed in a few leagues this year behind the exact same unsexy trio of Cousins, Brissett, and Fitzpatrick. It cost me almost no draft capital and it meant that at least ONE of them had a streamable matchup I could confidently attack for 20-25+ points each week. QBs are a nice dynasty asset to have too IMO given that they stay in the league relatively longer so it never hurts to have a couple extra lying around.

FAILED: Not valuing RB stashes more than other positions
I stashed a lot of young WR this year (Boykin, Quinn, etc) that haven't panned out. In a lot of leagues, my decision for this offseason for them is either hold or cut, since it's very difficult to get any picks/players in return for them. I'm sure there's lots of Isabella owners out there in the same boat! However, I think there are young RB stashes that haven't really contributed yet (Thompson, Hill, Henderson) that you could probably sell for a player or pick if you really wanted. For next year, I think I'll try to stash more at RB than other positions since I think there's more resale value in the position, so the initial draft capital isn't as much of a potential waste.

WORKED: Relying less on Vegas lines as a tiebreakerI
was sports betting for years before starting to play fantasy back around 2012/13. Because of that background, I used to lean on Vegas O/Us a lot as a tiebreaker for fringe matchups plays, choosing the guy in a game with a higher implied points total. But the Vegas O/U, while a useful guide, isn't perfect. It tells us the number that Vegas thinks will balance its book, rather than the number of points that they think will actually be scored in a game. This year, when I've seen dissonance between fantasy analysts and Vegas, I haven't taken what Vegas has said as gospel and instead I've used the fantasy knowledge as an opportunity to bet the O/U. A perfect example was the Packers-Vikings MNF game that just passed which had an O/U of around 47 and at the same time most fantasy sites had both Rodgers &Cousins as QB2s with the only W/T1s on both rosters being the mainstays of Adams, Diggs, and Jones.

FAILED: Trusting camp hype over "real" draft capital
I think the local SB nation blogs for each team are great for team insights during OTAs and training camp and getting more of a feel for how camp battles are shaking out. But buying that camp hype bit me a couple times this year. One example this year was the Ravens. I know it's still early in his career, but after hearing everything out of the Ravens camp this offseason about Miles Boykin while hearing almost nothing about Hollywood, I went hard for Boykin in all my rookie/startup drafts and faded Hollywood - obviously it didn't pan out! Next season, if there's a skill position player that is drafted by an NFL team in the 1st round, I'll trust that they'll get opportunity once the season starts.
