What’s the most lively spot to play craps on the strip and get cocked with my groomsmen? Hahaha

Took a gap year from my office job to play poker/travel - decided to write a story about it - Second Page.

For the first page click HERE
Anyways back to Vegas, Gary lets me know he just arrived in town and we should go for a drink. He’s with a friend of his, Patrick a.k.a. Clicki.
I knew Clicki, I once transferred him 1000$ online, a short term loan. I’d only see the guy once and never spoke to him, yet was giving him a 1k loan. Gary said he was good for it. That’s the poker world.
Gary and Clicki seem to have a hell lot of fun at the craps table in a video they send me. I advanced in the tournament and am off the next day, so decide to pay them a visit in the Flamingo casino.
There was one other guy, his name was Matt. Despite being white he talked like some American rapper and he kept telling me that he could have me sign an NBA contract first thing in the morning because of my height.
One thing was immediately clear, this group was here to party.
We are getting strong mixers for 10$ a drink, this would go a bit against my normal standards but it was Vegas after all.
Gary, not surprisingly already in fairly drunk shape after arriving 2 hours in Vegas, tells me there was this woman who wanted to sleep with him.
I told him he should totally go for it and after not seeing him for one hour he came back. I will never forget him telling me he just fucked a whale, she was so fat he thought he was riding her legs.
Matt, Clicki and I were all dying of laughter, especially after seeing his face when he realized he didn’t use a condom.
Another two hours later, it must be around 3am, we find ourselves at the hotel room of Clicki, there’s plenty enough booze (and illegal substances) around. Gary, who is staying there as well, tells us we should leave the room. He has a tournament the next morning at 11 and according to him this was the opportunity of a lifetime for him. You could ask yourself how serious you could take a man, who just drank all night, talking about the opportunity of a lifetime the next morning. Matt, Clicki and I go on looking for a bit more trouble and end up at a random hotel room in Planet Hollywood.

Report your table minimums here (COVID Edition) part 3

Part 3 in the COVID series.
To try and make this list more helpful, I have added Weekend Day and Weekend Night, as those can be vastly different than during the week.
I'm trying to monitor Twitter and the Vegas Message Board to get some additional information.
Keep sharing all that wonderful goodness.
I'd like to update the wiki to talk about what sidebets casinos have, so if you know that info, I can add it to the table comments.

Report your table minimums here (COVID Edition)

6/17 Edit: Great info guys. Keep it coming! If something changes, please let me know.
I reached out to the mods asking about putting together a post to collect minimums for craps tables in Vegas and other places.
If this post gains traction, it may get a sticky. It may also help cut down on the amount of posts asking for this info.
I'll try to keep the body of the post updated. If information is correct, let me know.
Update 6/18 - Nevada Gaming Board announced masks required at table games in Nevada. I haven't heard that this is being enforced yet.
6/30: Keep reporting, especially any of you heading to Vegas. We would love to hear what the mins are on the strip
Let me know what casino, day or night and the minimums:

4s obviously kill you.. but alot of times can bounce back... get up early and get out
82 no 4 12 on 6 n 8 10 on 5 5 on field
or double/triple if you want
if you get stung by 4s can up the no4 level to get something back when a 7 shows otherwise on a 7 you are -1

My Vegas trip report for 12/25 - 12/30

I had the holidays to myself this year (mid 30s bachelor, siblings were with in-laws) and had a comped room at Aria so I made a trip to Vegas from San Francisco, CA. I had told myself I will take a day off the Strip to visit Fremont.
My strategy - This is a more aggressive style I've been playing this holiday season. Before I never pressed my bets and it was just a grind session. While this trip was a negative, I believe that if I did not press my bets on the hot shooters, my losses would be greater and my wins would be less. The data does not show the times where I was out 75% of my buy-in and a hot shooter came in to save my ass
  1. Make the pass line bet for minimum. On $5 tables, I went max odds up to 5x. On $10, $15, $25 tables, I went with 1x, 2x, 3x.
1A) If the dealer is friendly and making jokes and small talk, I would bet $1-$5 on the pass for them.
2) I place all the inside numbers 5, 6, 8, 9 for the minimum bet.
3) If the point is 4, 6, 8 10, I make a two way hardway for just the point number for $5 and $1 tip
4) If there is the ATS bonus, I typically played it. On $5 tables, I bet two way 212 ($2 All Small, $1 All, $2 All Tall). At $10 and $15 tables, 555 for me, 212 for dealers
5) I try to press my wins up to quarters (for 5/9, it goes along $5 > $10 > $25. for 6/8, $6 > $12 > $24 > $30) before collecting.
5A) If it's a cold table and I'm in the red, I would collect the first win before pressing.
5B) If I have successfully pressed it up to quarters, if I collected a win off the pressed bet, and if I had already made a good profit (more than 50% of my buy-in, I keep pressing up past $100.
6) If the table is cold, I give it 2 go-arounds to see if it heats up. If a shooter had a hot roll, I play 1 more go-around to see if they still got heat.
7) After color up, I leave all the loose $1 and $5 chips on the table

Some highlights
  1. Another player and I both hit either All Tall or All Small for $5 each several times in a session
  2. At Planet Hollywood, I bought in just as a shooter started to heat up. He was a new player so he only had the pass line, no odds, and the field. I had my inside numbers pressed up to $100+ each. Made $500 off the guy's roll and his own stack never grew. We kept telling him to place odds and to play the numbers, but he kept his own style. I was the next shooter and rolled for 25 minutes, again pressing several up past $100+
  3. At MGM Grand, we had a hot shooter and the dealer was just giving a lot of us shit for not pressing enough or adding to our bets. I had pressed up to $100+ and he just kept shaking his head at us. The players next to me never pressed.
  4. At Bellagio, I stepped in just as a quiet older lady started her roll. She had a hot roll and hit the points instantly several times, hitting several hard points, and I had pressed up again. She only made one side of the bonus and it got me out of the red. I head over to Park MGM and 30 minutes later she joins the table. This time she hits the bonus for my 555/212 bet. Session ended with $1200 profit. If you wanted to know - she always played stick left, no dice setting, just picked it up, and flicked the dice like a lady throwing her silk handkerchief
  5. At Excalibur, I stepped into a roll in progress. For some reason, the other side of the table had the puck off and I bought in mid-roll. This is my personal NO-NO rule. I would have waited it out, but I made a mistake and disturb the roll. The guy was hot and I pressed my $5 to $100. After he PSO, I just colored up.

Some take-aways
  1. My best sessions were just being in the right place at the right time.
  2. The female players had the best rolls. The better ones were playing besides their husbands. Single women, not too "hot"
  3. Set the dice if you want and if you believe. No one cares as long as you're winning. One beginner shooter had a hot roll, but he had the worst roll style in the world. The dice wouldn't even make it down the table, it slipped out of the hand, if he manages to get it down the table, he chucked it so hard it destroyed all the stacks.
  4. TIP THE DEALERS!! I played and tipped constantly at Park MGM and the dealers recognized me every night. They even talked to the pit boss to let me play with the lower minimum if they had just upped it before I joined in. I tipped at every table during the entire trip so the dealers knew my bets and would remind me if I had missed something.

Going to Vegas this weekend, Recommendations?

Hey guys! found this subreddit a couple weeks ago in preparation of my trip to vegas this weekend,
I was wondering what the must hit casinos/tables are in vegas. Last time I was there I was at the Flamingo and had a hell of a time. Is binions still the craps capital or should I search for other casinos? Thanks for any tips, stories or experiences.

Vegas Super Bowl Weekend Trip Report

TL/DR: Had a great run at the craps tables Super Bowl weekend. Arrived in Vegas Friday afternoon and departed Monday afternoon and stayed at Planet Hollywood. Got on a hot roll first session of the weekend and didn't look back - no losing days! I had some memorable rolls and hit the bonus bets.
SuperBowl trip:
My friends have been doing the SuperBowl weekend trip in Vegas for years - I joined them for the first time in 2018. This is my second trip with this crew.
My game:
I place the 6/8 for $30 each (or $60 on the other number if 6/8 is the point). Pass line & continuous come bets with odds (down with odds if the 6/8 hit).
For odds, at a $10 table I'll take full 3-4-5 X odds (or 5X odds if allowed) out of the gate. I didn't find much in the way of $10 tables in Vegas .... AT $15/$25 tables I start my odds $30 on 4/10, $40 on 5/9 and $50 on 6/8 - press my odds if the table heats up and then increase my come bet if the table stays hot.
I'll bet $15 on the hardway if the point can be rolled hard (i.e., 4/10 or 6/8) and I dabble in the bonus bets (repeaters and all-tall-small)
Friday afternoon
Check-in, hit the patio at Beer Park (Paris) for an adult beverage.
Back to Planet Hollywood for craps. Open $15 minimum table. The first 2 base dealers had my game figured out in seconds: "down with odds", they'd leave $15 change in the come for me (knowing I'd have another come bet) and on my "off and on" wins they'd pay me in all nickels or combination of $25/$5 chips or all $25 chips depending on how well supplied I was with $5 chips ("dealing to the rack" in the lingo).
First session I bet $5 each on the repeater 9 and repeater 10. Both came in this session and I was off to the races.
Changed for dinner, had another winning craps session at Planet Hollywood and then off to dinner
Friday dinner
Went to the off-strip Herbs & Rye steakhouse. My friends and I went there last year and enjoyed it. This year it was a bit of a miss (the steaks weren't cooked to order / got messed up). They do have a happy hour (1/2 price steaks 5-8). With my good run in the afternoon run I covered the bill for the 4 of us (with my friends covering the tip).
Friday night
First stop - The D downtown. It was loud, busy, smoky and full of characters. 10X odds with the table minimum bumped from $10 to $15 shortly after I arrived. I got stung here and gave back a chunk, but not all of my afternoon winnings.
Second stop - Binions. Played at the "Cowgirls" table near the doors (Cowgirls = scantily clad female dealers, like at Blackjack tables at the pleasure pits of other casinos). Dealers are inexperienced, but I did remember one dealer from last year who knew her stuff. $15, minimum and 5 X odds. Had a nice win here.
Third stop - Linq. Met up with friends who came in on a later flight. Found a $15 table. Bought in for $500 ... choppy table, got the dice ... down to the felt and found myself reaching into the wallet for another $100 so I could bet odds .... and then got on a great run (as the shooter)! Eventually got my odds to the maximum and then got $25 come bets out there with max odds too. I had $5 each on the All-Tall-Small and I had all the spots filled up except the 2-12 for what seemed like a dozen rolls. After the inevitable 7-out, I cashed out $1500 and called it a night.
For the $15 games Friday night at all casinos my advice is to pack your patience, enjoy the scenery (Linq and D have go-go dancers), kibbutz with your friends and drink your complimentary adult beverage. The tables are busy, some players are inexperienced, some dealers are on the new side too, it's hard to hear the dealers (and vice-versa) and there is lots of irregular action (small mid-roll buy-ins, hands in the table when the dice are out, etc.).
Saturday afternoon
Had lunch at YOLO's (Mexican restaurant at Planet Hollywood). Played at Planet Hollywood (lowest min was $25)
Used my $150 in free play at Blackjack and lost six consecutive hands. (Why I didn't use my free play at craps is a mystery, even to me).
Got my losing Super Bowl bets in.
Had a nice win before lunch at craps - gave much of that back after lunch.
After a break, Round 3 to me, though .... $25 table, got the dice and had a nice monster roll. Again I had $5 each on the 9-10 repeater bets and they came in 2-3 times. I got my pass line up to $75 with odds and made my point (collecting $525). My pass line bet progression is patient so I figure I may have made 5-6 points (1-2 points with $25 pass line, 1 point with $30 pass line, 1 point with $40 pass line, 1 point with $50 pass line and 1 point with $75 pass line). Once my pass line got to $30, I had $25 come bets going and once my pass line got to $75 I had $50 come bets going.
Two guys next to me bought in for $200 and coloured up $2000+ each. I also had a big win.
With no boxmen at the table there was a 5 minute delay as they had to wait for a supervisor to become available to approve the chips the players were colouring up.
Saturday evening / show / dinner / night
I had tickets to Absinthe at 8pm, so headed down to Caesars Palace for around 5 PM to pick up my tickets. Caesars Palace was, well, Caesars Palace. The $25 tables were jammed up like a $5 game downtown, the $50 tables were busy and they even had a $100 table open. It was a big win just to find an open spot at a $25 table.
The vibe at Caesars is money. Money. Money. Money. Lots of action and well-heeled gamblers. Even the dealers - one craps dealer at my table, with his slicked back mane of silver hair and gold necklace-pinky rings-gold watch looked like the Central Casting prototype for an old-school Vegas dealer.
Escaped with a small win. Then - in another big win - my friend and I were able to find a spot at a bar for a pre-show cocktail. Caesars was hopping.
Absinthe was great! Highly recommended. Amazing acrobats/performers in an intimate setting. Raunchy, offensive and hilarious comedy bits from the MC and his assistant. Plus the sexy Green Faerie.
Dinner was at Hell's Kitchen: Highly recommended. I had the lobster risotto and the crispy-skin salmon.
After dinner, found a $15 table at the Linq and had a decent win.
Super Bowl Sunday
Planet Hollywood minimums were $50 before breakfast. Went to Paris (Mon Ami Gabi) for breakfast and found $25 and $15 tables at the Flamingo.
The $15 table was jammed so we played at $25 .... and hit the All-Tall-Small with 5$ on each. Ka-Ching! Migrated to the $15 table when spots opened up. At the $15 table, things were up and down (mostly down) ... I had a nice roll that got me mostly back to where I was when I left the $25 table - I hit the small (with $5 on it), 2 hard sixes ($15 and after $10 pressure a $25) and multiple points (I had my line bet up to $30 and had it hit).
I had a nice win at the Flamingo for my 3 hours of play (10 AM-1 PM), but my total win was less than what the bonus bets paid out. The bonus bets saved my session!
Went to Blondies (in the Miracle Mile mall at Planet Hollywood) for the Super Bowl watch party. Blondies is a sports bar with a well-executed attractive women serving cold beer business model. This has been my friends go-to party for years ($200, open bar, buffet, etc.). I won the halftime squares (Pats 3, Rams 0) for $1000. Then, a guy I met at this party last year, said "tiskertasker89, you have the 3-0 square, i have the 3-3 square lets split our interests for the 3rd quarter and final". I agreed, and the 3-3 squares came in both times and I collected another ~$1000.
Flush with cash and booze I played the $50 tables at Planet Hollywood after the game. A new experience for me. It worked out. After some choppiness, I got on (reportedly - based on a dealers comment - a 40 minute run). (I was more focused on having to the bathroom than shooting). I almost doubled my buy-in, took a break (met up with my friends at the Planet Hollywood centre bar) ... took another shot at a $50 table and dropped 1/2 my winnings in ... seconds?? ... called it a night and ended with a respectable win for my first time playing $50 minimums.
Monday
Didn't play on Monday - didn't want to tempt fate. This trip, I only lost at one casino and barely had a losing session. Breakfast at the Cafe in Planet Hollywood, bought souvenirs, got a 20 minute massage at the mall kiosk. The equivalent of the football kneel-down to run out the clock.

Other quick hits
At the $50 minimum table at Planet Hollywood they didn’t let me bet less than $50 odds …(I was planning on $30 on 4/10, $40 on 5/9 and $50 on 6/8) ... The base dealer – who had initially set up my bets before the stick said “Hey, it’s a $50 game” – gave me a knowing look and said “the Rio -which is owned by the same company – would let you do it”. After no odds for a few rolls, I eventually took single odds on all my pass line and come bets.
At the Linq after a point of 5 or 9 was made I said to the dealer “Oops – sorry - I’ve over-bet my odds”. I had a $15 line bet with $80 odds. I was expecting them to hand back my extra $20 – instead they set up the over-bet as a place bet and paid it. I thought this was generous of them (Although, I guess I’m assuming that on a losing wager in this situation they wouldn’t take the odds over-bet).
For the “you can trust the rating system” file, after my cashing in my chips following my Sunday session at the Flamingo I asked the supervisor what my average bet was and how long I played. She said – “I’ve already closed you out. Let me check. You’re Kenny, right?”. Ummm, no. I'm tiskertasker98 ... In fairness, there was a shift change during my play … but still
On Saturday, my friend – who is a Diamond player but somewhat new to craps - hit a repeater bet and didn’t realize it didn’t stay up. I was playing at a different table. The crew didn’t remind him that his repeater bet came down. Of course, the repeater hit again and he thought he was on it. For the “all well that end’s well file”, though, my friend did hit 2 repeater 8’s on his last craps session of the trip on Monday morning.
A few times, dealers were tripped up by $15 come bets with $30 odds on the 4/10, $40 odds on the 5/9 and $50 odds on 6/8…. To me this is bread and butter craps … full Double Odds and all bets pay $75 …Anyways, no big deal, the underpayments were easily corrected and the overpayments somehow got overlooked.
A nice zinger: Good-guy craps player at the Flamingo (he had an all-day $1 hard six for the crew) got thanked for his crew-wager and said "No THANK YOU. You dealers are the hardest working guys in Vegas. Although, if I'm with an all-female crew I have to say you dealers are the SECOND hardest working girls in Vegas".

[Rough Draft] Flashback, Save State #3

I had figured it out; more or less, the fine print in these powers of mine. The most memorable moment in recent memory is the place I always flash back to. Every time, I appear just moments before that point, with everything except my memories returning to the way they were. I'm still not sure why it works this way, shouldn't memories technically be like, chemicals in your brain or whatever? I dunno, I'm not a scientist... but hey, time travel powers, in my experience, seem to break reality.
Anyway, the "mom" incident... I remember it vividly but the moment of crazy emotion that came from stopping the robber and saving the cashier seemed to be where I'd pick up from after that point. I tried flashing back to the first incident a lot after that, but no dice. I sorta regret it, not being able to hard reset back to the beginning, but reliving the same day over and over gets old.
So what came next? Well, let me tell you, when you can jump back in time to a point where you aren't tired, you can get a lot done. Kind of. Nothing I do after that point sticks except for in my head, but it meant I could learn stuff and go back without wasting time. That's when I knew I had my ticket, if I was gonna go through with this super hero business, I had to train my brain!
Still, books are expensive and we lived in the J District, near the bottom of the barrel in terms of quality of life, but there was still once good place to turn... the local library! And by local, I mean it was a 60 minute ordeal to get there by train, and as a jobless teenager, train tickets were pricey, so it was back to the drawing board. Scratch-offs weren't the ticket, they were the same every time... but that got me thinking, what about lotto? Well, at that point, the whole thing would be a huge mess, firstly I didn't have a bank account, secondly that takes time - you aren't just a millionaire tomorrow with a winning ticket. I needed funds fast!
I started small, and tried my luck at a run-down local "casino", more a hole in the ground with some dug up novelty slot machines. Barely functioning neon signs, scuffed art of flamingos and sunrises, you know the deal. What came next was losing all of my money a dozen times over, but when you can go back and try again, its more a matter of persistence before you get your way. Just as it was getting boring, I remember sitting there, head tilted to the side, half asleep... the reels slowly clicking into place...
7 7 7
WINNER WINNER WINNER WINNER!
Hype! Like, real hype. Now wide awake I got that big dopamine hit and watched as the machine spat out dozens upon dozens of quarters, and yeah I know its chump change in the grand scheme of things, but after gathering it all up I felt the adrenaline hit like it hadn't in a few cycles... Thats when I thought, "Right now... remember right now... remember this feeling."
Then, risking it all - uh, sorta, I closed my eyes and...
WINNER WINNER WINNER WINNER!
I did it. For the first time, I took a manual "snapshot" of where I was and flashed back to it. Hitting the jackpot must've been a good trigger for me, and it made sense, I'd just made more money than I'd ever handled in my whole life... A whole two hundred and fifty dollars. Still, this solved all my immediate problems, and it wasn't enough cash to be a huge pain, something I'd learn much later in life.
But for now, I was riding high. I figured this was enough excitement for one day.
Well, okay, flashing back to that sweet gratification was too tempting.
WINNER WINNER W- you get the idea.
That night I ate like a king. A king willing to settle for pizza. I had this grand idea to get the whole family together for dinner, but no dice, mom "hates pizza" and Harold was "trying veganism".
Was this the lamest excuse to flash back? Maybe, but I'd do worse later down the road. Unwilling to scarf a whole pie myself I started back from before and got myself a few ala carte slices then settled down for the night.
That morning, I hit the streets. Two fifty minus some for pizza was more than enough to get me a train ticket. Just about. "Fifty six dollars?!" yeah, a bit more than I thought, as was life in relative poverty, a poor man's poor because being poor is expensive, and there was only one train that runs through J District, usually packed shoulder to shoulder. But there I was, on my way to the brighter lights of C District.
I remember getting giddy with excitement, thinking all the sweet martial arts manuals and stuff they gotta have at the library. Feeling the excitement, I thought I'd experiment right then and there - "Remember... the sights, the sounds, the SMELLS of the train... remember..." closed my eyes, focused, flashed back.
"Remember..." like a charm! I was getting the hang of manually setting where I'd flash back to. At the end of the train ride, I made a note to flash back to the END of the ride for the future, then made my way to the library.
I quickly realized I had no idea what to look for, and that I didn't have the patience to read an entire book in one "sitting". Besides, if I was gonna make the most of it, I'd need to take it home, read it, study it, practice the maneuvers...
Goddamn, I was dumb! Settling for a copy of "Hibiki's How to Kick Ass Without Even Taking Names!" volume 1, entirely off the title and the artwork of a dude throwing a sweet jump kick on the cover, I made my way home, making sure to KEEP my return point the end of the first train ride, just in case Hibiki-sensei's book was a bust.
...Yeah, it was a bust. A whole bunch of crap, with a mess of admittedly cool artwork, but nothing that seemed to make any sort of sense, even for a complete beginner like me. Well, no harm no foul, library books are free and I had "all the time in the world", except for real.
Flashing back off the train I'd try again, this time doing my quality assurance on site. Turns out, learning karate from a book is way harder than it sounds. Out of sheer stubbornness I'd keep reading though, even moving my return point to save time. Every few hours I'd feel myself nodding off, remembering my page, and flashing back. Through sheer unwillingness to call this whole trip a loss, I wound up completing a several hundred page manual on the principles and history of "Yeet Kune Do" only to realize something on the walk back to the station.
There was a FREAKIN' KARATE DOJO DOWN THE ROAD!!
At this point I was bitter, and though I wasn't physically tired - it still wasn't even noon, I was absolutely drained mentally. Even when you got infinite time to do it, marathoning a book thick enough to call an improvised weapon was a hassle.
"Okay. Tomorrow." I was burnt out, it was time to head home.
I sat down on the train, it was time to get back, much later than last time. I set my return point here to avoid having to make the walk, and then...
"EVERYONE ON THE GROUND RIGHT NOW!" a trio of men wearing balaclavas started waving guns around. Could I REALLY not go a single day without a gun incident!?
"Oh, screw this!" I remember quipping, then flashed back...
Into the same seat three seconds ago. "Aw, shi-"
"EVERYONE ON THE GROUND RIGHT NOW!"
I put myself in a situation I couldn't just flash out of. I screwed up. Big time.
Tomorrow, I had said about Karate lessons... if only I knew how long it'd be until then.

Three Days in Vegas-Fun Times.

Initial overview for the three days was a roller coaster, many casinos and lots of craps. Down about $400 but had a blast.
DAY 1- Always wanted to play Binion’s based on a video I saw. Played at the $10 table which had a lot of enhancements if you know what I mean. Fairly cold and dropped $150 fairly quickly so got off and later tried $5 table. Did ok but still not what I hoped for and down another $50.
Keep in mind in a fairly conservative player (which I think hurts me at times) typically max of three numbers on place and come bets. Watched a lot of dice setting videos which I use 4/2, 4/2 which seems to work for me. Don’t know if any of it works but comfortable for me when I throw.
Not sure I would go back to Binion’s as enjoyed myself other places more the next couple of days.
DAY 2- The day started out at the Silverton casino (good breakfast by the way). Playing my usual place and come bets, got hot and hit the all small for the table and dealers. Missed the 11 before the seven. Usually bet the ATS 2-1-2. Good dealers, quick to remind me if I was missing a bet I typically play. Was up $200 when I walked away. Casino very clean and not to busy at 11am.
Next top was the Green Valley Ranch where someone in our party wanted to play. Nice place, waited for a spot which didn’t take long as multiple PSO hit a few times. I finally got the dice and threw for 30+ throws. Hit the all Tall with one number short. Also threw 6’s 5 out of 7 throws. Made some money for the table. One person tipped me $50 as he made some serious cash. Only walked away with $ 180 but has some serious fun on the roll. Love seeing people smile and make money.
Funny moment here, my wife’s friend walked up to me during the big roll and asked me how I was doing right before a toss. You could see the table cringe as I tossed the dice, no 7 out thank god. She then realized what she did and apologized profusely to the table. Thank god I didn’t SO.
Next stop was Red Rock which I enjoy and have been here before. Table was inconsistent and just wasn’t feeling it. Guy next to me playing DC and pass line bets. Makes no sense, not good vibes do left after $100 loss.
Starting to realize that I need to feel good with my surroundings regardless how hot the table is. It’s about having a good time.
Last casino (craps) was at The Tropicana. Played after the Legends show which was very good. No one st the table when I started. Shooting cold and not hitting points. Others showed up but didn’t do much better. Finally got bones again with about a 18-20 rolls. Was down about $250 when I started and reduced the number to around $100.
One oddity was a dealer kept talking to me while I was shooting. I know this should not happen but let it ride. Think he was bored as no one was playing before I showed up.
Although the day was pretty much a push and had so much fun playing at so many tables.
DAY 3- Last Day, we started at the Peppermill for breakfast. Portions are huge filling and great tasting. Expect lines. We were then off to Sam’s Town. What a great casino. Had done fun here but not st the craps table. Again, not good vibes due The a player who was a dick. I think he expected everyone to have 20+ rolls so he could make money. I threw twice one for about 20 and the next three (POS). Was down $150 but didn’t want to be around this rude A-hole so played float machines (which I rarely do cause the usually kick my ass but regained $70.) huge win for me. Wife and I played some Pai Gow and boosted that another $100. Still liked the casino and dealers, just not the rude player.
Next Stop was the Boulder Station. Holy shit this table was cold. We only had an hour here before we had to head out for another show. My thought, get in quick, make a couple of $100 and get out. Can you say PSO, PSO, PSO ( my roll next) PSO and then another. It was comical in a way really not. Dealers were decent. Only other thing was the ATS. Was $5 each. This is just gouging to me and don’t see it that often (only know of one where I live). Saved some money here.
Took a stab at slots again got back some of my money. I was so shocked that I won at slots two days in a row as I always lose normally. Not sure I’d go back here again.
Last casino for the day was at the Flamingo. Our show was here so we had 45 minutes. Yes, went straight for the craps table. Bam, bam, bam down $100. Ugg. Just no hot shooter, never got to throw.
Show over at 9. We all split up, I’m seeking out another craps table. $10 table. My favorite spot was open and jumped in. Was slowly bleeding for about an hour. Was down another $200. Stood there with a little over $100 contemplating whether to walk. Heck no! Last night in Vegas I went for it.
I need to share that 2/3 of the table were first time players. Asking a lot of question, throwing dice off table, hands in the well during the toss. Dealers had their hands full. It was kinda comical, I said “kinda.”
The topper was I had my turn to roll, new guy walks up to my left as I’m throwing right. Talking to me the whole time, as I setting dice and throwing , Asking me how to bet. I told him all in....... just kidding. I just kept rolling and hitting, making everyone and me (yeah for a change money). Got my $300 back and a little more. Missed the ATS 2 and 11 before SO (Hit some chips on my toss) ugh
Had a lot of fun the last three days. Just thought I’d share. Going back in April with my sons. No doubt have some good memories from that upcoming trip.

Several Vegas trips under my belt

So I wanted to post this not for anything other than for more information for those who come to this sub here for exactly that. Some of this may be repetitive but it can’t hurt to have additional opinions.
Hotels: To clarify, I have always been comp’d rooms due to my play, so I can’t speak specifically to prices, just to what I see.
-Rio: Stayed here. It was huge. Off the strip so was a bit inconvenient but affordable, and now with ubelyft, it may not be a bad option. They have a Seafood buffet which is solid, but wouldn't say "top notch." One very cool thing for poker players, is if you go in the summer, from about May to end of July, you are bound to see some of the top poker players in the world, as the WSOP is there.
-Paris: Stayed here. Hotel is nice. That’s really the best word to describe it, because the rooms are average, clean, pretty standard size. Casino is pretty spacious, cool theme obviously. Always seems like day time even in the late hours of the night. Pizza place there was not great. Buffet there is decent. A lot of different than most others, as they make fresh Crepes and have a French theme, again, obviously.
-Casesars: Stayed here. This is THE largest hotel in Vegas. I believe the Bellagio and like 2 other casinos can fit (square foot wise) inside in this hotel. Mainly because of how large the shops are. The rooms are very nice. Fairly standard for the most part, can’t hurt to ask for an upgrade here. It is a very busy hotel/casino, but is so spread out. Sports book is enormous! If sports are your thing, go here to hang. Sit at the bar right there and play some video poker even. They have a decent café/ eatery area for like quick food, which includes your standard Chinese food, burger place, pizza place, etc. HIGHLY RECOMMEND – Searsucker Restaurant. I believe 430-6 is their happy hour. My fiancé and I went there and we ate very well with an app, and drinks and was like 50 bucks. Get duck fat fries!
-Linq: Stayed here. Probably my favorite place to stay, in many ways. This won’t be the most luxurious place, however the rooms are “different and modern. The hotel is smaller, the casino is smaller but it’s really not a big deal. Just like Caesars and Bellagio, this is pretty much the center of the strip and in the center of it all. Behind the linq is the “High Roller” wheel ride. Leading to the ride, is a walkway and alley of shops and places to eat and drink. All are very good. Highly suggest Flour and Barley for good pizza and beer. Pizza Is brick oven, and suggest the homemade pesto. The beer selection is pretty stellar, for those beer drinkers who like to experience. For the crowd that likes to gamble and party at the same time, O’sheas bar is IN the casino but also leads to the strip. This place is open 24 hours, and has all gambling games inside it (except for slots, although there may be one BIG slot in there). They also have beer pong tables that they provide you with all the stuff. Again, this is highly recommended place to stay, so you aren’t stuck on the end of strip.
-Venetian: Stayed Here. I lied above when I said I never paid for hotels. Staying here I went on Travelocity and got a deal for 5 nights and flight for like $900? I stayed alone because I was traveling for my sister’s wedding. This place is pretty phenomenal. All rooms are suites, technically. Very nice, very big. The Venetian and Pallazo are basically the same place. The rooms are identical and the casino is fairly similar as well. Ate at CUT Steakhouse which was VERY good, clearly very pricy however. All other hotels, I have not stayed at, yet. I don’t think you could go wrong with a hotel, however I would avoid Excalibur, Circus Circus and the Flamingo.
Shows:
-Criss Angel: Avoid altogether. Show was overpriced and his act is old.
-Penn & Teller: I enjoyed this show. This is at the Rio however, so will need to travel there since you can’t walk there. Show was funny, action packed and of course magical.
-Mat Franco: Good show. Very personal audience as it doesn’t seat many people. It’s got a feel good vibe to it.
-Mac King (Magic): for what you pay, it’s a good show. It won’t break the bank, and there are afternoon shows which is a great way to beat the heat and relax and enjoy some magic and slapstick comedy. He won’t wow you but definitely make you scratch your head.
-Mariah Carey: Now this was a 30th birthday present for my fiancé and I got great seats. It turned out that we sat right next to her kids, so she came to visit that area frequently which was very cool. She really is a great performer, and as a guy, the show was pretty good. She does a lot of costume changes, and sings a lot of older songs. I have heard from others that the show is good, and is MUCH better than Celine, for what it’s worth.
-Absinthe: This is an absolute MUST SEE. Saw this and it is really hard to describe this show in all honesty. It is a mixture of acrobatics, talents (i.e. juggling, etc.), Raunchy comedy, and just a really good time. Don't see this with parents. This is really a great show, and they change it all the time. i saw this show and explained a few acts to my friend, and he said that is not what he saw, so it really keeps the show electric since the actors/perfomrers are really into new stuff.
Food:
-Hash House (Linq): food was good. Expensive but its shareable. Chicken and waffles are good
-Bellagio Café: I like this place for a good breakfast. It’s little pricy, but not too bad honestly. It’s our favorite breakfast spot so far.
-Guy Fieri’s (Linq): Pretty decent spot. Price is pretty good. One of the best burgers I’ve had. Good brisket nachos too
-Caesars Buffet: Best buffet in my opinion. Great selection, food that is supposed to be hot, is hot.
-Bellagio Buffet: Terrible. Waited forever, was SO expensive. Food was not good honestly.
-Paris buffet: It’s okay. Price is Okay. Seriously is just Okay.
-General comment of casino restaurants: Do your research before going. Check out the menu. Don’t go to one of these places thinking you’re going to get an app, 2 dinners and drinks for under 100 bucks in most cases. The steakhouses in Vegas are some of the best in the country. A tip for saving a few dollars, is don’t eat normal meal times. Eat a later breakfast, eat an earlier dinner. Lunch may not happen, OR eat snacks. You can easily go to walgreens and get a 5 dollar sandwich.
Bruxie: saw a suggestion for this place and they said $5 waffle wednesdays. Yes it's true. they always have a chicken and waffle special for $5 on wednesday. they made us show them the facebook promo or something but wasnt difficult. could probably just open the website on your phone. I really liked the food. i thought the chicken was really good and honestly, for five bucks, quite a steal.
Jaburritos: this was right in the alley of the linq. was okay. a bit pricey for "fast food" type, but i didnt mind it. interesting concept in my opinion. was more of a whim visit.
Gambling:
-All casinos will have fairly expensive table minimums. Expensive meaning, you have to search for 5 dollar blackjack and Craps. Mostly going to be $10 or $15. Slot play is comparable all over. Bellagio has a lot of slots, but you can say the same about Caesars and MGM, etc.
Other:
-Mob Museum: very cool experience. I recommend it. You can take the Deuce (bus) there, and then walk right to Fremont after.
-Pawn Stars: If you are a super fan of the show, then go. Otherwise just avoid. Very small, you won’t see one of the stars of the show, everything is super expensive.
-Fremont: Fun to go to, especially to see history. I don’t recommend eating anywhere here lol. My fiancé did the zip line, she enjoyed it.
-New York New York: I am putting this here, because this place fascinates me. The area that looks like NY streets and such for the shops, is just pretty cool to me. Nathans here is good. I have gone with my father and my future father in law, and they both agree it is very similar to old time Nathans.
I have really mashed up a lot of visits to Vegas here, and definitely leaving out tips and tricks im sure. Let me know if I can answer anything else! Win BIG!
Exotics Racing: Gave my fiance this for her birthday last year. i bought her 5 laps in whatever car she wanted. she chose the Audi R8. She LOVED IT. they were very careful with all buyers, and even offered drifting laps to folks just there to watch. They have a pro drifter from fast in the furious (when i was there at least) that would drift for a few laps. it was a sight to watch. Its a bit pricey, but they run specials here and there. If you are looking to splurge and like cars, then this is for you.

Bachelor Party Advice?

I'm going to Vegas tomorrow and staying until Sunday with 11 other guys for my bachelor party. We are staying in the Cosmo (The Jockey Club?). I've been to Vegas twice before so I have a good idea of the Strip, walking around, "cheap" casinos, etc. We've got a couple of things planned, but I would appreciate any other advice/comments/answers on some things. Here is what we have planned:
Thursday night:
Friday:
Saturday:
The only things from our schedule that are set IN STONE are the Marshmello concert, the zipline, and the High Roller. All other times are up to our discretion/your input. That being said, I have the following questions:
1) What buffet would you recommend that is a) good, b) a good value, c) within walking distance from the Cosmo, and d) has an all you can drink options (mimosas or bloody mary's, etc)?
2) A friend of our got us on the guest list at the Marquee pool. Was planning on making an appearance during the day Friday. How hard is it going to be to get a group of 12 guys with no females into the pool without paying? What does getting on the guest list actual guarantee us - just skipping the admission line?
3) For the Marshmello concert that starts at 10, what time should we get to the club to minimize waiting in line time?
4) Any Fremont St. advice is helpful - I've never been. We are planning on doing the zipline and I want to get a scorpion shot at Nacho Daddy. Finding a cheap blackjack table or craps table would be ideal for a big group like us.
5) Last time we went, NYNY had $5 BJ tables during the day that turned into $10 BJ at night. I know the casinos toward the end of the strip tend to be "cheaper" on the wallet. Do you know of any casinos that have $5 BJ, craps, or any other table game on the strip or on Fremont St? We usually go to NYNY or Excalibur for cheap BJ during the day. Flamingo also had a $5 table last time I was there.
Any advice is appreciated, thanks guys!

After Action from MOH

Good morning, Weddit. My sister got married yesterday and I was the MOH. Here's a small report on what happened. Wall of text inbound.
When: March 11, 2017 Where: Flamingo Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas, NV - "Bridal shower"/Reception: hotel suite - Bachelorette: Chayo and AmeriCAN - Wedding: Garden Chapel in Habitat at Flamingo What: Bachelorette party, wedding, reception
Ok, starting with the bachelorette party: I specifically asked my sister what she wanted because I didn't want to make it a bad memory for her. The "bridal shower" happened in the hotel suite. It was supposed to be a tea party thing, but it kinda wasn't. We had tea, but bride spent the whole time making tea. Everyone was in small cliques of family/friends and didn't mingle much. My step-mum took over decorating and was taking care of it during the shower. Then it started getting dark and my grandmum was worried that grandpa was lost. Left "bridal shower" and went to find grandpa. Dad and my husband found him easily; grandpa couldn't hear the phone ringing when we tried to call him. The reason I am using "bridal shower" in quotes is because it was more of a set up thing with tea, than an actual bridal shower.
Bachelorette party: Now, when I originally planned this, there was 12 people going. By the time we got to the restaurant, we had 30. No problems, just kinda annoying because I found out at the last minute and had to fix the reservations. Went to Chayo's Mexican Restaurant. Good food, giant portions, loud music, and a mechanical bull/chicken After dinner, most people escaped and a few of us when to the AmeriCAN bar. We chose here, because there are giant bar games, like jenga and connect 4. Bride, mum, my two step sisters and I played many games of jenga. Mum got mad at me because I'm a science person and kept pulling bricks from the bottom to set up traps for her. I ended up buying her a beer to beg forgiveness ;). Bride had fun, and step mum kid napped my husband and dad to make the hotel suite into a reception room. As we were ready to leave, bride's step mom showed up and wanted to party. Her stepmom has a mentally challenged daughter and she had to get the daughter to bed before she could show up, which ended up being later than originally thought. I had to leave because I'm an asshole when I'm tired and didn't want to do that for the wedding next day. Little did I know, I would need that asshole magic for the wedding. Bride came up to suite an hour after I did, then crashed. I would not suggest AmeriCAN bar. The games here weren't too bad, but $8 for a can of skulpin beer, $6 for a can of angry orchard, etc.
Wedding day! Pre-wedding: Bride woke up early, realized she wanted jeans and she forgot her petticoat. She went home, grabbed both, got Mcdonalds, and came back to suite. Drove to Aveda cosmetology school for hair and makeup. They couldn't fit mum in for a manicure, so it was just bride and I. This is where it starts to go downhill. Everyone keeps calling her for info instead of my step-mum, her stepmom or me. Her dad is panicking because he thinks everyone will get lost to the chapel (there are signs everywhere), get lost to the room (we gave the best directions we could), we need ice, etc. She finishes with her hair and makeup and we plan to get tea. No go on tea. We have to re-check into hotel due to cluster fuck, where they wouldn't charge the bride's dad's credit card and her stepmom had to cough up $800 without notice. Get checked in, get a call from groom and cupcakery. They are on their way. Stepmum was supposed to be here already to get them. Oh well, we're here and we'll get them. Groom has sandwiches, but they are the wrong ones. Bride freaks the fuck out. I tell her I'll take care of it. I call the deli and the manager calls me a liar and that they made the ordered sandwiches. I tell him that he's wrong, the bride never got an order receipt, and that we will be down there to look at the original order. He replies that they already threw the order paper away and continues to call me a liar. This is where I needed my sleepy asshole magic. I tell him that I want to talk to a manger; he is the deli manger. I say no, I need the store manager. I get put On hold. Bride has to go pick up cupcakes, so I send her away to take care of it. Groom and touchy-groomsman take up the correct trays. Groom's stepdad is worried he will miss the wedding. I tell him to go home and change and we will deal with sandwich crap. I should have kept the wrong sandwiches, but hindsight 20/20. Finally connect to store manager but he has to "investigate" what happened. Never got a call back. Mum shows up and forces bride to eat something.
Wedding time! Bride gets whisked off to the bridal suite; I'm trapped getting attacked with hair rollers and makeup. We make it down to the chapel, with rollers in hair with 5 mins to spare to 3pm. Stepmum is a photographer as well as setting the reception room up along with bride's stepmom. Get in line and it's time for the ceremony. It's a beautiful day and despite the sandwich fiasco, bride doesn't look too stressed. We walk down the aisle, groom's sister, bride's other half sister, then me. Bride walks down to the wedding singer song. They do the ceremony thing. Groom forgets his name, "I, Sam, take thee Sam..." Groom's name is Vernon.. had a good laugh then and later. They exchange rings, kiss and ceremony is done. Then the final groomsman shows up, after the ceremony. Wedding. Party pictures, then the late groomsman leaves. Heading to reception...
Reception: Lead the herd of people up to the suite. Almost everyone finds their way, except for the bride's dad... he was in the middle of the pack, no idea how he got freaking lost. Everyone is chatting while the rest of the photos were getting done. Bride and groom show up, clapping, woohoo! Now we start passing out champagne for the speeches. This is where we find out that he bride's dad is lost. We send out a search party and half an hour later, he shows up, fully changed into jeans and a Hawaiian shirt. I do the first toast, then a couple more toasts, then cake cutting. They are polite and don't slam cake into each other's faces. By this time, people are starting to leave, so about 4:30-5pm. Mostly family stays to chat and drink, before we head out to food, because there's no sandwiches. Bride and groom have an after party scheduled for friends who couldn't make the wedding due to timing or space. Bride and groom come down to food just as we were leaving. Hugs, congrats, update Facebook, then we leave. Not sure if anyone came to after party. The whole thing is done by 7:30.
Today: I'm on an airplane heading back home for work tomorrow. Dad, stepmum, husband, bride, and groom are cleaning room, getting photos and done by 11:00 pst.
Tl;Dr: not a bad wedding, catering didn't get correct sandwiches, wedding was short.

My suggestions for a fun/cheaper Vegas trip

I got back from Vegas a few days ago and it was great. I like to save money so I thought I would share a few tips and tricks to save money and still have a blast.
Sightseeing
I would definitely spend a few hours just walking around to all the casinos on the strip. The best part about this is if you sign up for the Player's Club (free) in each casino, they will usually give you some sort of incentive. Treasure Island gave me $10 in slot play. Whatever you win off that $10, you get to keep. Most other casinos have a similar incentive.
Shows
If you want to see a show, then check out Tix4Tonight. They are all over the strip. They sell discount tickets for shows that are showing that night. Usually they are the cheapest, but I bought tickets to Cirque du Soleil and when I went to pick up the tickets at Treasure Island, I found out their last minute tickets were cheaper. Definitely check first.
During my stay, I found out there are also a bunch of smaller, less known shows. These tickets are significantly cheaper and sometimes free. Nathan Burton's comedy magic is a free show at the Flamingo. Be sure to pick up tickets in advance as they sell out fast. Be on the lookout for these shows in coupon books (which you can find everywhere).
Free Drinks!
If you like to drink and you like gambling, then you're in luck! Sitting at the penny slots, I had free cocktails constantly served to me. Just remember to tip your waitresses! $1 seemed to do the trick.
If you are at a table game such as Craps or Blackjack, then expect tons of drinks to be thrown at you. The casino wants to get intoxicated so you are a little looser with your money. As long as you moderate your drinking, you can keep a nice buzz and not lose too much money.
Gambling
If you are staying on the Strip then you will quickly come to realize that table games are expensive. Most minimums on table games are $5 and $10 at Caesars Palace and the Bellagio. There is one casino on the Strip, however that is a little cheaper. Casino Royal, which is across the street from The Mirage and next to Harrah's, has $3 Craps and $4 Roulette.
If you really don't want to spend that much money (like me) then I suggest you take a little trip downtown. Go to any northbound bus stop and buy a $7 24 hour pass. Hop on the bus and get off on Fremont Street. If you want to play some Roulette, then go to the El Cortez casino where they have $1 minimum and $.25 chips. Want to play Craps? Go the Western which is a little further down the street from El Cortez. They have $1 Craps.
Food
If you are staying on the Strip then I suggest dinner at Ellis Island Casino at least a few times. It is just off the strip here. Ask for the Steak Special and you will get this for $7.99. Yes, that is right, you get a soup or salad, steak, green beans, potatoes and a beer, all for $7.99.
Harrah's has a "Million Dollar Pull" where you just go up and play a slot machine for free with the chance to win $1 million. Even if you don't win a million, you will always win something. One of the prizes they have is a $20 dining voucher for any Harrah's property, which includes: Caesar's, Imperial Palace, Rio, Harrah's etc... The dinner buffet at Harrah's is $20, so there is a free meal!
When you are downtown playing some cheap table games, make sure you grab dinner at Binion's. Just sign up for their player's club and they will give you a buy one get one free entree coupon for their cafe. My girlfriend and I ate a full meal for a total of $10 there, delicious.
I know there is a ton I am leaving out, so please add any tips!
