The San Diego chicken is dancing with excitement a long the 3rd base line as all the drunk Dodger fans sit down with their bandwagon Bellinger Jerseys. Next inning of course, SDSU native Strasburg pitches a 1,2,3 inning. Bottom of the 2nd Inning Manny Machado hits a out of the park moonshot against Clayton Kershaw over the Western Metal Supply building. Frustrated bandwagon dodger fans are weeping because they thought they were gonna beat the Padres. But no, the friar faithful is to powerful. We are impossible. 2 innings later, Friars are still up 7-0 and it's the top of the 8th inning. Dodger fans are already piling out of the stadium and ready to go back on there three and a half hour drive to LA. There are 2 outs in the top of the 8th and Strasburg is at 119 pitches and is losing some velocity, but is still holding on to his perfect game. The echos of mudcat dissolve into the stadium as they remember mudcat saying on November 8th,2019, "Tinglè would you let strasburg go past 120 pitches?" The stadium is quiet seeing if Tinglè would take him out. But no he is staying in and going to end this game. One pitch later he paints the corner with an implacable slider that makes Max Muncy strikeout for strike number 3. Now Strasburg is closing the game in the top of the 9th with another assurance run as starling marte got on the board with an inside the park homerun. Strasburg is at 21 strikeouts breaking the all time strikeouts in a mlb game. He beat Kerry Wood and Roger Clemens record of 20. Now all he needs is 3 outs to get the padres first perfect game in history. Strasburg wipes some dirt off and is in his windup. He starts off with a 92 mph fastball on the top right of the plate. His next pitch he pitches was a 80 mph changeup that was fouled off. His 3rd pitch was a beautiful sweeping curveball and bellinger struck out frustrated as he snaps his decorated wooden bat in half. His next at bat starts off with a low 86 mph ball. After that pitch he throws another ball that is swung at and it's a routine groundball to 3rd base. Platinum glove Manny Machado throws the ball to 1st baseman Gold Glove Eric Hosmer as they reach their 2nd out. Now all Strasburg needs is one more out to reach the Padres first perfect game in history. The Padres dugout and fans are biting their nails as this is making them frightened and anxious. Next up to bat is 3rd baseman for the Dodgers Justin Turner. The 1st pitch is a ball that hits the dirt and gets past Austin Hedges. The 2nd pitch is supposed to be a ball, but because of Austin Hedge's amazing framing, it's a strike. The count is 1-1 as strasburg wipes some dirt off of him and starts his next pitch. Justin Turner swings at the ball and it's surely a hit. Fans were quiet as the ball was hit over the Padres Shortstop. Surely this ball was to high for him to get to. But, baby goat is superhuman and jumps higher then Michael Jordan dunking a basketball and reaches out his mitt for the ball. He grabbed it. Stephen Strasburg is the the first Padre Pitcher to throw a Perfect game! Petco Park went into Uproar and excitement. Tatis gets up with dirt on his new brown pinstripes jersey as he starts to celebrate with the team. You could hear the presence of mudcat say,"THE PADRES DID IT, STEPHEN STRASBURG IS THE FIRST PADRE TO THROW A PERFECT GAME!" It was a great night for the friar faithful and city of San Diego. The San Diego Padres end up beating the LA dodgers on opening day with Stephen Strasburg throwing 21 strikeouts and a perfect game. Fireworks are shot up in the sky from Petco Park, as well as fire goes up in the air from the centerfield Sycuan Casino sign. Downtown San Diego is lit up with lights as Petco Park is chanting "Beat LA". The Friar Faithful's new jersey and Stephen Strasburg's Pitching has now started a new Padres Era.
